Title: Every positive integer is the order of an ordinary abelian variety over $${{\mathbb {F}}}_2$$

  2. Abstract In this paper we prove a result on the effective generation of pluri-canonical linear systems on foliated surfaces of general type. Fix a function {P:\mathbb{Z}_{\geq 0}\to\mathbb{Z}} , then there exists an integer {N>0} such that if {(X,{\mathcal{F}})} is a canonical or nef model of a foliation of general type with Hilbert polynomial {\chi(X,{\mathcal{O}}_{X}(mK_{\mathcal{F}}))=P(m)} for all {m\in\mathbb{Z}_{\geq 0}} , then {|mK_{\mathcal{F}}|} defines a birational map for all {m\geq N} . On the way, we also prove a Grauert–Riemenschneider-type vanishing theorem for foliated surfaces with canonical singularities.

  3. A bstract When the SU( N ) $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 super-Yang-Mills (SYM) theory with complexified gauge coupling τ is placed on a round four-sphere and deformed by an $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 2-preserving mass parameter m , its free energy F ( m, τ, $$ \overline{\tau} $$ τ ¯ ) can be computed exactly using supersymmetric localization. In this work, we derive a new exact relation between the fourth derivative $$ {\partial}_m^4F\left(m,\tau, \overline{\tau}\right)\left|{{}_m}_{=0}\right. $$ ∂ m 4 F m τ τ ¯ m = 0 of the sphere free energy and the integrated stress-tensor multiplet four-point function in the $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 SYM theory. We then apply this exact relation, along with various other constraints derived in previous work (coming from analytic bootstrap, the mixed derivative $$ {\partial}_{\tau }{\partial}_{\overline{\tau}}{\partial}_m^2F\left(m,\tau, \overline{\tau}\right)\left|{{}_m}_{=0}\right. $$ ∂ τ ∂ τ ¯ ∂ m 2 F m τ τ ¯ m = 0 , and type IIB superstring theory scattering amplitudes) to determine various perturbative terms in the large N and large ’t Hooft coupling λ expansion of the $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 SYM correlator at separated points. In particular, we determine the leading large- λ term in the $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 SYM correlation function at order 1 /N 8 . This is three orders beyond the planar limit.

  4. We prove that for all integers 2≤m≤d−1, there exists doubling measures on ℝd with full support that are m-rectifiable and purely (m−1)-unrectifiable in the sense of Federer (i.e. without assuming μ≪m). The corresponding result for 1-rectifiable measures is originally due to Garnett, Killip, and Schul (2010). Our construction of higher-dimensional Lipschitz images is informed by a simple observation about square packing in the plane: N axis-parallel squares of side length s pack inside of a square of side length ⌈N1/2⌉s. The approach is robust and when combined with standard metric geometry techniques allows for constructions in complete Ahlfors regular metric spaces. One consequence of the main theorem is that for each m∈{2,3,4} and s0, f(E) has Hausdorff dimension s, and μ(f(E))>0. This is striking, because m(f(E))=0 for every Lipschitz map f:E⊂ℝm→ℍ1 by a theorem of Ambrosio and Kirchheim (2000). Another application of the square packing construction is that every compact metric space 𝕏 of Assouad dimension strictly less than m is a Lipschitz image of a compact set E⊂[0,1]m. Of independent interest, we record the existence of doubling measures on complete Ahlfors regular metric spaces with prescribed lower and upper Hausdorff and packing dimensions.

The electronic, vibrational, and charge-transport properties of a series of benzothieno-benzothiophene (BTBT)–F m TCNQ ( m = 0, 2, 4) and diC n BTBT–F m TCNQ ( n = 8, 12; m = 0, 4) donor–acceptor (DA) co-crystals have been investigated by means of density functional theory calculations. The electronic-structure calculations predict wide conduction bands and small effective masses for electrons along the DA stacking directions. The results indicate that the increase in the number of F atoms on the acceptor molecules results in an increase of superexchange couplings along the DA stacks, while the addition of the alkyl side chains results in a decrease of through-space transfer integrals between neighboring stacks. Time-dependent density functional theory calculations of the optical properties describe the lowest two optical transitions as having a charge-transfer character and being related to the two electronic coupling pathways that contribute to the superexchange couplings. The results also indicate that the ionicity parameter in the diC n BTBT–F m TCNQ cocrystals is somewhat larger than in the BTBT analogues. Overall, we find that DFT calculations based on periodic boundary conditions are a reliable tool to estimate the ionicity parameter in DA cocrystals.
