  1. A bstract An amplitude analysis of the D + → π − π + π + decay is performed with a sample corresponding to 1.5 fb − 1 of integrated luminosity of pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s = 8 TeV collected by the LHCb detector in 2012. The sample contains approximately six hundred thousand candidates with a signal purity of 95%. The resonant structure is studied through a fit to the Dalitz plot where the π − π + S-wave amplitude is extracted as a function of π − π + mass, and spin-1 and spin-2 resonances are included coherently through an isobar model. The S-wave component is found to be dominant, followed by the ρ (770) 0 π + and f 2 (1270) π + components. A small contribution from the ω (782) → π − π + decay is seen for the first time in the D + → π − π + π + decay.

  2. Abstract A model-independent determination of the CKM angleγis presented, using theB±→ [K+Kπ+π]Dh±andB±→ [π+ππ+π]Dh±decays, withh=K, π. This measurement is the first phase-space binned study of these decay modes, and uses a sample of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1. The phase-space bins are optimised for sensitivity toγ, and in each bin external inputs from the BESIII experiment are used to constrain the charm strong-phase parameters. The result of this binned analysis is$$ \gamma ={\left(53.{9}_{-8.9}^{+9.5}\right)}^{{}^{\circ}} $$ γ= 53. 98.9+9.5 ° , where the uncertainty includes both statistical and systematic contributions. Furthermore, when combining with existing phase-space integrated measurements of the same decay modes, a value of$$ \gamma ={\left(52.{6}_{-6.4}^{+8.5}\right)}^{{}^{\circ}} $$ γ= 52. 66.4+8.5 ° is obtained, which is one of the most precise determinations ofγto date.

  3. Abstract A study of charm mixing andCPviolation inD0→K±ππ±πdecays is performed using data collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions from 2015 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb−1. The ratio of promptly producedD0→K+ππ+πtoD0→Kπ+ππ+decay rates is measured as a function ofD0decay time, both inclusive over phase space and in bins of phase space. Taking external inputs for the$$ {D}^0-{\overline{D}}^0 $$ D0D¯0 mixing parametersxandyallows constraints to be obtained on the hadronic parameters of the charm decay. When combined with previous measurements from charm-threshold experiments and at LHCb, improved knowledge is obtained for these parameters, which is valuable for studies of the angleγof the Unitarity Triangle. An alternative analysis is also performed, in which external inputs are taken for the hadronic parameters, and the mixing parameters are determined, including ∆xand ∆y, which are nonzero in the presence ofCPviolation. It is found that$$ x=\left(0.{85}_{-0.24}^{+0.15}\right)\% $$ x= 0. 850.24+0.15 % ,$$ y=\left(0.{21}_{-0.27}^{+0.29}\right)\% $$ y= 0. 210.27+0.29 % , ∆x= (−0.02 ± 0.04) % and$$ \Delta y=\left(0.0{2}_{-0.03}^{+0.04}\right)\% $$ Δy= 0.0 20.03+0.04 % . These results are consistent with previous measurements and the hypothesis ofCPconservation.
