Title: Measurement of the e+e− → $$ {B}_s^0{\overline{B}}_s^0X $$ cross section in the energy range from 10.63 to 11.02 GeV using inclusive $$ {D}_s^{+} $$ and D0 production
Abstract

We report the first measurement of the inclusivee+e$$ b\overline{b} $$bb¯$$ {D}_s^{\pm } $$Ds±Xande+e$$ b\overline{b} $$bb¯→ D0/$$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$D¯0Xcross sections in the energy range from 10.63 to 11.02 GeV. Based on these results, we determineσ(e+e$$ {B}_s^0{\overline{B}}_s^0 $$Bs0B¯s0X) andσ(e+e$$ B\overline{B} $$BB¯X) in the same energy range. We measure the fraction of$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0events at Υ(10860) to befs= ($$ {22.0}_{-2.1}^{+2.0} $$22.02.1+2.0)%. We determine also the ratio of the$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0inclusive branching fractions$$ \mathcal{B} $$B($$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ D0/$$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$D¯0X)/$$ \mathcal{B} $$B($$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0$$ {D}_s^{\pm } $$Ds±X) = 0.416 ± 0.018 ± 0.092. The results are obtained using the data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+ecollider.

We present a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decays$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0τ±, where=e, μ, using the full data sample of 121 fb1collected at the Υ(5S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+ecollider. We use$$ {B}_s^0{\overline{B}}_s^0 $$Bs0B¯s0events in which one$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the other in the signal mode. We find no evidence for$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ ℓτ±decays and set upper limits on their branching fractions at 90% confidence level as$$ \mathcal{B} $$B($$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ eτ±)<14×104and$$ \mathcal{B} $$B($$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ μτ±)<7.3×104. Our result represents the first upper limit on the$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ eτ±decay rate.

    A search for the fully reconstructed$$ {B}_s^0 $$Bs0→ μ+μγdecay is performed at the LHCb experiment using proton-proton collisions at$$ \sqrt{s} $$s= 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb1. No significant signal is found and upper limits on the branching fraction in intervals of the dimuon mass are set$$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{cc}\mathcal{B}\left({B}_s^0\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\gamma \right)<4.2\times {10}^{-8},& m\left({\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)\in \left[2{m}_{\mu },1.70\right]\textrm{GeV}/{c}^2,\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({B}_s^0\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\gamma \right)<7.7\times {10}^{-8},&\ m\left({\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)\in \left[\textrm{1.70,2.88}\right]\textrm{GeV}/{c}^2,\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({B}_s^0\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\gamma \right)<4.2\times {10}^{-8},& m\left({\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)\in \left[3.92,{m}_{B_s^0}\right]\textrm{GeV}/{c}^2,\end{array}} $$BBs0μ+μγ<4.2×108,mμ+μ2mμ1.70GeV/c2,BBs0μ+μγ<7.7×108,mμ+μ1.70, 2.88GeV/c2,BBs0μ+μγ<4.2×108,mμ+μ3.92mBs0GeV/c2,

at 95% confidence level. Additionally, upper limits are set on the branching fraction in the [2mμ,1.70] GeV/c2dimuon mass region excluding the contribution from the intermediateϕ(1020) meson, and in the region combining all dimuon-mass intervals.

We report results from a study ofB±→ DK±decays followed byDdecaying to theCP-even final stateK+Kand CP-odd final state$$ {K}_S^0{\pi}^0 $$KS0π0, whereDis an admixture ofD0and$$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$D¯0states. These decays are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity-triangle angleϕ3. The results are based on a combined analysis of the final data set of 772×106$$ B\overline{B} $$BB¯pairs collected by the Belle experiment and a data set of 198×106$$ B\overline{B} $$BB¯pairs collected by the Belle II experiment, both in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure the CP asymmetries to be$$ \mathcal{A} $$ACP+= (+12.5±5.8±1.4)% and$$ \mathcal{A} $$ACP−= (16.7±5.7±0.6)%, and the ratios of branching fractions to be$$ \mathcal{R} $$RCP+= 1.164±0.081±0.036 and$$ \mathcal{R} $$RCP−= 1.151±0.074±0.019. The first contribution to the uncertainties is statistical, and the second is systematic. The asymmetries$$ \mathcal{A} $$ACP+and$$ \mathcal{A} $$ACP−have similar magnitudes and opposite signs; their difference corresponds to 3.5 standard deviations. From these values we calculate 68.3% confidence intervals of (8.5°<ϕ3< 16.5°) or (84.5°<ϕ3< 95.5°) or (163.3°<ϕ3< 171.5°) and 0.321 <rB< 0.465.

We measureCPasymmetries and branching-fraction ratios forB±→ DK±and±decays withD →$$ {K}_{\textrm{S}}^0 $$KS0K±π, whereDis a superposition ofD0and$$ \overline{D} $$D¯0. We use the full data set of the Belle experiment, containing 772×106$$ B\overline{B} $$BB¯pairs, and data from the Belle II experiment, containing 387 × 106$$ B\overline{B} $$BB¯pairs, both collected in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. Our results provide model-independent information on the unitarity triangle angleϕ3.

Measurements of the production cross sections of prompt D0, D+, D*+,$$ {\textrm{D}}_{\textrm{s}}^{+} $$Ds+,$$ {\Lambda}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Λc+, and$$ {\Xi}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Ξc+charm hadrons at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at$$ \sqrt{s} $$s= 13 TeV with the ALICE detector are presented. The D-meson cross sections as a function of transverse momentum (pT) are provided with improved precision and granularity. The ratios ofpT-differential meson production cross sections based on this publication and on measurements at different rapidity and collision energy provide a constraint on gluon parton distribution functions at low values of Bjorken-x(105–104). The measurements of$$ {\Lambda}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Λc+($$ {\Xi}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Ξc+) baryon production extend the measuredpTintervals down topT= 0(3) GeV/c. These measurements are used to determine the charm-quark fragmentation fractions and the$$ \textrm{c}\overline{\textrm{c}} $$cc¯production cross section at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) based on the sum of the cross sections of the weakly-decaying ground-state charm hadrons D0, D+,$$ {\textrm{D}}_{\textrm{s}}^{+} $$Ds+,$$ {\Lambda}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Λc+,$$ {\Xi}_{\textrm{c}}^0 $$Ξc0and, for the first time,$$ {\Xi}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Ξc+, and of the strongly-decaying Jmesons. The first measurements of$$ {\Xi}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$Ξc+and$$ {\Sigma}_{\textrm{c}}^{0,++} $$Σc0,++fragmentation fractions at midrapidity are also reported. A significantly larger fraction of charm quarks hadronising to baryons is found compared to e+eand ep collisions. The$$ \textrm{c}\overline{\textrm{c}} $$cc¯production cross section at midrapidity is found to be at the upper bound of state-of-the-art perturbative QCD calculations.
