This dataset consists of tower-based remote sensing measurements collected using a pair of Fluospec2 (FS2; Yang et al., 2018) instruments, each consisting of two QEPro spectrometers (Ocean Optics, Orlando, USA), installed at the Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) site (site abbreviation: BONA) near Fairbanks, Alaska. Remote sensing observations include solar-induced fluorescence, derived via a spectral fitting method, near-infrared reflectance of vegetation, and several vegetation indices that can collectively be used to evaluate canopy productivity, photosynthetic phenology, and physiology. Data was collected from two subsites, one FS2 (frequency-synthesizer) instrument installed at each site, located roughly one kilometer apart along a topographic gradient. The evergreen site consists of a black spruce canopy and a lichen and moss understory, with a few larch trees interspersed. The FS2 instrument here was installed on an observation tower (latitude/longitude: 65.15401/-147.50258) installed by NEON that also hosts NEON's meteorological and flux instruments, with the FS2 instrument observing a cluster of black spruce (Picea mariana) trees. At the deciduous site (latitude and longitude: 65.15686833, -147.50367667), a mast was installed within a deciduous canopy consisting of alaskan paper birch (Betula neoalaskana), black spruce, and quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides) trees located roughly one kilometer (km) uphill from the evergreen site. The FS2 instrument installed here observed a paper birch tree located near-nadir from the instrument.   2. We employ a family of ancilla qubit variational wave functions [Y.-H. Zhang and S. Sachdev,Phys. Rev. Res.2, 023172 (2020)] to describe the polaronic correlations in the pseudogap metal phase of a hole-doped 2D Fermi–Hubbard model. Comparison to ultracold atom quantum simulator data [J. Koepsellet al.,Science374, 82 (2021)] reveals both qualitative and quantitative agreement with the numerical analysis from half-filling up to 80% hole-doping, capturing the crossover from the polaronic regime to the Fermi liquid observed around 40% doping.

Six new species of Stenometopiini are described: Stirellus paracatalinus sp. nov. from Mexico, Stirellus lesioensis sp. nov. from Republic of Congo, Stirellus paralesioensis sp. nov. from South Africa, Stirellus kitwensis sp. nov. from Zambia, Stirellus madagascarensis sp. nov. from Madagascar, and Stirellus petfordensis sp. nov. from Australia. Ten species are redescribed: Kinonia elongata Ball, Stirellus catalinus (Beamer & Tuthill), Stirellus labiatus (Gillette), Stirellus mexicanus (Osborn & Ball), Stirellus picinus (Berg), Stirellus laetus (Melichar), Stirellus multipunctatus Duan, Webb & Zhang, Stirellus neospeciosus Duan, Webb & Zhang, Stirellus rubrolineatus (Distant), and Stirellus sagittarius (Naudé). Kinonia elongata Ball, S. catalinus (Beamer & Tuthill) and S. labiatus (Gillette), all described from the Southwestern USA, are recorded from Mexico for the first time. Stirellus picinus (Berg) is recorded from the Virgin Islands (Guana Island) for the first time. Stirellus laetus (Melichar), S. multipunctatus Duan, Webb & Zhang, S. neospeciosus Duan, Webb & Zhang, and S. rubrolineatus (Distant) are recorded from Thailand for the first time.

  5. We establish a version of the fractal uncertainty principle, obtained by Bourgain and Dyatlov in 2016, in higher dimensions. The Fourier support is limited to sets Y⊂ℝd which can be covered by finitely many products of δ-regular sets in one dimension, but relative to arbitrary axes. Our results remain true if Y is distorted by diffeomorphisms. Our method combines the original approach by Bourgain and Dyatlov, in the more quantitative 2017 rendition by Jin and Zhang, with Cartan set techniques.
