A search for hidden-charm pentaquark states decaying to a range of and final states, as well as doubly charmed pentaquark states to and , is made using samples of proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of recorded by the LHCb detector at . Since no significant signals are found, upper limits are set on the pentaquark yields relative to that of the baryon in the decay mode. Measurement of Electron Antineutrino Oscillation Amplitude and Frequency via Neutron Capture on Hydrogen at Daya Bay
This Letter reports the first measurement of the oscillation amplitude and frequency of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay via neutron capture on hydrogen using 1958 days of data. With over 3.6 million signal candidates, an optimized candidate selection, improved treatment of backgrounds and efficiencies, refined energy calibration, and an energy response model for the capture-on-hydrogen sensitive region, the relative rates and energy spectra variation among the near and far detectors gives and assuming the normal neutrino mass ordering, and for the inverted neutrino mass ordering. This estimate of is consistent with and essentially independent from the one obtained using the capture-on-gadolinium sample at Daya Bay. The combination of these two results yields , which represents an 8% relative improvement in precision regarding the Daya Bay full 3158-day capture-on-gadolinium result. We report the results of the first search for decays to the final state using of data collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating decay and oscillations which follow the standard model decay . We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions to be and on the effective angular frequency of mixing in oscillations to be (equivalent to ). A study is presented of and decays based on the analysis of proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The invariant-mass distributions of both decay modes show, in the mass region, large activity which is resolved using an amplitude analysis. A simple model, where amplitudes are described by multiple Breit-Wigner functions with appropriate angular distributions, provides a good description of the experimental data. In this approach a complex mixture of , and amplitudes is observed that is dominated by , , , , and resonances. The Dalitz plots are dominated by asymmetric crossing bands which are different for the two decay modes. This is due to a different interference pattern between the and amplitudes in the two channels. The ratio of branching fractions , where is an electron or muon, is measured using a Belle II data sample with an integrated luminosity of at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider. Data is collected at the resonance, and one meson in the decay is fully reconstructed in hadronic decay modes. The accompanying signal meson is reconstructed as using leptonic decays. The normalization decay, , produces the same observable final-state particles. The ratio of branching fractions is extracted in a simultaneous fit to two signal-discriminating variables in both channels and yields . We study and mixing in the protoneutron star (PNS) created in a core-collapse supernova (CCSN). We point out the importance of the feedback on the general composition of the PNS in addition to the obvious feedback on the lepton number. We show that for our adopted mixing parameters and consistent with the current constraints, sterile neutrino production is dominated by the Mikheyev–Smirnov–Wolfenstein conversion of into and that the subsequent escape of increases the lepton number, which in turn enhances muonization of the PNS primarily through . While these results are qualitatively robust, their quantitative effects on the dynamics and active neutrino emission of core-collapse supernovae should be evaluated by including and mixing in the simulations.
