    Connected vehicle (CV) application developers need a development platform to build, test, and debug real-world CV applications, such as safety, mobility, and environmental applications, in edge-centric cyber-physical system (CPS). The objective of this paper is to develop and evaluate a scalable and secure CV application development platform (CVDeP) that enables application developers to build, test, and debug CV applications in real-time while meeting the functional requirements of any CV applications. The efficacy of the CVDeP was evaluated using two types of CV applications (one safety and one mobility application) and they were validated through field experiments at the South Carolina Connected Vehicle Testbed (SC-CVT). The analyses show that the CVDeP satisfies the functional requirements in relation to latency and throughput of the selected CV applications while maintaining the scalability and security of the platform and applications.

  2. PurposeAlthough allies have been shown to be effective at helping to ignite positive change for marginalized groups, the literature on ally identity development is fragmented. Design/methodology/approachWe draw from developmental, contextual, and identity theories to review the existing literature and focus squarely on the ally experience, resulting in a synthesized process-based conceptualization of ally identity development. FindingsAt each stage, we discuss intrapersonal experiences individuals are likely to have internally, interpersonal experiences that are likely to occur with others, and catalysts for progression to subsequent stages. In doing so, we outline the multilevel factors that influence and are influenced by ally development in hopes of identifying what motivates or dissuades individuals from becoming more active allies. Originality/valueWe provide practitioners and scholars with a deeper understanding of the organizational and societal benefits associated with allyship behaviors, as well as tools for increasing their presence within organizations.

  3. Abstract Cell fate decisions emerge as a consequence of a complex set of gene regulatory networks. Models of these networks are known to have more parameters than data can determine. Recent work, inspired by Waddington's metaphor of a landscape, has instead tried to understand the geometry of gene regulatory networks. Here, we describe recent results on the appropriate mathematical framework for constructing these landscapes. This allows the construction of minimally parameterized models consistent with cell behavior. We review existing examples where geometrical models have been used to fit experimental data on cell fate and describe how spatial interactions between cells can be understood geometrically.
