  1. We present the synthesis, structure, and electrochemistry of K 3 [Mo 2 (SNO5) 4 Cl] 3 [Mo 2 (SNO5) 4 ] ( 1 , HSNO5 = monothiosuccinimide), the first example of a heterometallic extended metal atom node (HEMAN). The HEMAN consists of two perpendicular, intersecting lines of metal atoms formed by three [Mo 2 (SNO5) 4 Cl] − units and one [Mo 2 (SNO5) 4 ] unit tethered together by K + ions.

  2. Abstract All‐solid‐state potassium batteries emerge as promising alternatives to lithium batteries, leveraging their high natural abundance and cost‐effectiveness. Developing potassium solid electrolytes (SEs) with high room‐temperature ionic conductivity is critical for realizing efficient potassium batteries. In this study, we present the synthesis of K2.98Sb0.91S3.53Cl0.47, showcasing a room‐temperature ionic conductivity of 0.32 mS/cm and a low activation energy of 0.26 eV. This represents an increase of over two orders of magnitude compared to the parent compound K3SbS4, marking the highest reported ionic conductivity for non‐oxide potassium SEs. Solid‐state39K magic‐angle‐spinning nuclear magnetic resonance on K2.98Sb0.91S3.53Cl0.47reveals an increased population of mobile K+ions with fast dynamics. Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations further confirm a delocalized K+density and significantly enhanced K+diffusion. This work demonstrates diversification of the anion sublattice as an effective approach to enhance ion transport and highlights K2.98Sb0.91S3.53Cl0.47as a promising SE for all‐solid‐state potassium batteries.

  3. Mixed metal oxyhalides are an exciting class of photocatalysts, capable of the sustainable generation of fuels and remediation of pollutants with solar energy. Bismuth oxyhalides of the types Bi4MO8X (M = Nb and Ta; X = Cl and Br) and Bi2AO4X (A = most lanthanides; X = Cl, Br, and I) have an electronic structure that imparts photostability, as their valence band maxima (VBM) are composed of O 2p orbitals rather than X np orbitals that typify many other bismuth oxyhalides. Here, flux-based synthesis of intergrowth Bi4NbO8Cl–Bi2GdO4Cl is reported, testing the hypothesis that both intergrowth stoichiometry and M identity serve as levers toward tunable optoelectronic properties. X-ray scattering and atomically resolved electron microscopy verify intergrowth formation. Facile manipulation of the Bi4NbO8Cl-to-Bi2GdO4Cl ratio is achieved with the specific ratio influencing both the crystal and electronic structures of the intergrowths. This compositional flexibility and crystal structure engineering can be leveraged for photocatalytic applications, with comparisons to the previously reported Bi4TaO8Cl–Bi2GdO4Cl intergrowth revealing how subtle structural and compositional features can impact photocatalytic materials.
