### Overview The SACHI (Sentinel-1/2 derived Arctic Coastal Human Impact) dataset has been developed as part of the HORIZON2020 project Nunataryuk by b.geos (www.bgeos.com). V1 covered a 100km buffer from the Arctic Coast (land area), for areas with permafrost near the coast. V2 covers additional selected areas extending the coverage to the south. It is based on Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 data from 2016-2020 using the algorithms described in Bartsch et al. (2020). It is a supplement to Bartsch et al. (2023). This dataset contains detected coastal infrastructure separated into seven different categories: linear transport infrastructure (asphalt), linear transport infrastructure (gravel), linear transport infrastructure (undefined), buildings (and other constructions such as bridges), other impacted area (includes gravel pads, mining sites), airstrip, and reservoir or other water body impacted by human activities. This SACHI version 2 dataset was post-processed by the Permafrost Discovery Gateway visualization pipeline. This workflow cleaned, standardized, and visualized the data as two Tile Matrix Sets per year. One Tile Matrix Set is the data in the form of GeoPackages, or staged tiles, and the other Tile Matrix Set is the staged tiles in the form of GeoTIFF tiles. The highest resolution tiles were resampled to produce GeoTIFFs for lower resolutions. Eriophorum vaginatum surveys collected by the carbon in arctic tussock tundra network from an array of sites in the Alaskan, Canadian, and Russian Arctic, 2015-2019
This data set is associated with Curasi et al., 2022 (https://doi.org/10.1088/1748-9326/ac6005) it includes detailed survey data for Eriophorum vaginatum spanning sites in the Alaskan, Canadian, and Russian Arctic. The data set includes detailed surveys of tussock density and diameter, shrub basal diameter and abundance, the relationship between tussock size and mass, the relationship between shrub size and mass, tussock chemical properties, soil properties, and bulk density. It also includes outputs and projections from a tussock machine learning ecological niche model. This data was collected to characterize the distribution of this foundation species across the landscape and illustrate its role in the ecosystem. Plant and root biomass, nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus were measured in 2015 in the Arctic LTER tussock tundra experimental site (MAT81). This site was established in 1981 and has been harvested in previous years (see Shaver and Chapin Ecological Monographs, 61(1), 1991, pp.1-31, https://doi.org/10.2307/1942997). Data tables include the biomass for each harvested quadrat and block summaries for percent carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus for control and fertilized plots from the original 4-block design. New control plots, established in 2015, are in a separate data table and include biomass, percent carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus for each quadrat.more » « less
