The ratio of branching fractions , where is an electron or muon, is measured using a Belle II data sample with an integrated luminosity of at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider. Data is collected at the resonance, and one meson in the decay is fully reconstructed in hadronic decay modes. The accompanying signal meson is reconstructed as using leptonic decays. The normalization decay, , produces the same observable final-state particles. The ratio of branching fractions is extracted in a simultaneous fit to two signal-discriminating variables in both channels and yields . Antiprotons and Elementary Particles over a Solar Cycle: Results from the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer
We present results over an 11-year Solar cycle of cosmic antiprotons based on events in the rigidity range from 1.00 to 41.9 GV. The fluxes exhibit distinct properties. The magnitude of the flux temporal variation is significantly smaller than those of , , and . A hysteresis between the fluxes and the fluxes is observed, whereas the and fluxes show a linear correlation. With a model-independent analysis, we found a universal relation between the shape of the rigidity spectrum and the magnitude of flux temporal variation over an 11-year Solar cycle for both positively and negatively charged particles. The simultaneous results on and , , and provide unique information for understanding particle transport in the Solar System as a function of mass, charge, and spectral shape.

A recent report of events by the BESIII collaboration suggests the presence of a structure at 3900 MeV. We argue that this structure, called in the past, is not in fact due to a new resonance but rather naturally emerges due to a combination of interference between nearby resonances and the opening of the channel. We further find that the appearance of this structure does not require suppression because of a radial node in the wave function, although a node improves fit quality. We report the results of the first search for decays to the final state using of data collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating decay and oscillations which follow the standard model decay . We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions to be and on the effective angular frequency of mixing in oscillations to be (equivalent to ). We report the first search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decays , where is a hadronic system with strangeness equal to 1, in data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of collected at the resonance and collected at a center-of-mass energy 60 MeV below resonance for estimation of continuum background. One of the mesons from the decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. The decay is reconstructed with a sum-of-exclusives approach that uses 30 decay modes. This approach provides high sensitivity to the inclusive decay, despite the presence of two undetected neutrinos. The search is performed in three regions of the mass, , chosen to separate contributions from , , and heavier strange final states. We do not observe a significant signal and set upper limits at 90% confidence level on the partial branching fractions for the regions , , and of , , and , respectively. Understanding electron neutrino interactions is crucial for measurements of neutrino oscillations and searches for new physics in neutrino experiments. We present the first measurement of the flux-averaged charged-current single charged-pion production cross section on argon using the MicroBooNE detector and data from the NuMI neutrino beam. The total cross section is measured to be at a mean energy of 730 MeV. Differential cross sections are also reported in electron energy, electron and pion angles, and electron-pion opening angle.more » « less
