Title: Non-factorizable superamplitudes for massive $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 superstates
Abstract In this paper we study non-factorizable$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 superamplitudes for massive chiral superstates. We demonstrate how little group scaling and the supersymmetric Ward identities determine the form of non-factorizable massless superamplitudes, then extrapolate to massive superamplitudes by requiring they reduce to the massless form when we send all masses to zero. This technique does not depend on whether or not the superstates are self-conjugate (so that the fermionic components are either Dirac or Majorana) or whether the superamplitude is dressed with a form-factor.  more » « less

  1. Abstract In this paper we develop a semi-standard Young tableau (SSYT) approach to construct a basis of non-factorizable superamplitudes in$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 massless supersymmetry. This amplitude basis can be directly translated to a basis for higher dimensional supersymmetric operators, yielding both the number of independent operators and their form. We deal with distinguishable (massless) chiral/vector superfields at first, then generalize the result to the indistinguishable case. Finally, we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this method compared to the previously studied Hilbert series approach.

  2. Abstract In this paper we develop a Young diagram approach to constructing higher dimensional operators formed from massless superfields and their superderivatives in$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 supersymmetry. These operators are in one-to-one correspondence with non-factorizable terms in on-shell superamplitudes, which can be studied with massless spinor helicity techniques. By relating all spin-helicity variables to certain representations under a hidden U(N) symmetry behind the theory, we show each non-factorizable superamplitude can be identified with a specific Young tableau. The desired tableau is picked out of a more general set of U(N) tensor products by enforcing the supersymmetric Ward identities. We then relate these Young tableaux to higher dimensional superfield operators and list the rules to read operators directly from Young tableau. Using this method, we present several illustrative examples.

  3. Abstract We introduce Ward identities for superamplitudes inD-dimensional$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N -extended supergravities. These identities help to clarify the relation between linearized superinvariants and superamplitudes. The solutions of these Ward identities for ann-partice superamplitude take a simple universal form for half BPS and non-BPS amplitudes. These solutions involve arbitrary functions of spinor helicity and Grassmann variables for each of thensuperparticles. The dimension of these functions at a given loop order is exactly the same as the dimension of the relevant superspace Lagrangians depending on half-BPS or non-BPS superfields, given by (Dāˆ’ 2)L+ 2 āˆ’$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N or (Dāˆ’ 2)L+ 2 āˆ’$$ 2\mathcal{N} $$ 2N , respectively. This explains why soft limits predictions from superamplitudes and from superspace linearized superinvariants agree.

  4. Abstract We study off-shelln-particle form factors of half-BPS operators built fromncomplex scalar fields at the two-loop order in the planar maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (sYM). These are known as minimal form factors. We construct their representation as a sum of independent scalar Feynman integrals relying on two complementary techniques. First, by going to the Coulomb branch of the theory by employing the spontaneous symmetry breaking which induces masses, but only for external particles while retaining masslessness for virtual states propagating in quantum loops. For a low number of external legs, this entails an uplift of massless integrands to their massive counterparts. Second, utilizing the$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 superspace formulation of$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 sYM and performing algebra of covariant derivatives off-shell. Both techniques provide identical results. These form factors are then studied in the near-mass-shell limit with the off-shellness regularizing emerging infrared divergences. We observe their exponentiation and confirm the octagon anomalous dimension, not the cusp, as the coefficient of the Sudakov double logarithmic behavior. By subtracting these singularities and defining a finite remainder, we verified that its symbol is identical to the one found a decade ago in the conformal case. Beyond-the-symbol contributions are different in the two cases, however.

  5. Abstract We study moduli stabilization via fluxes in the 26Landau-Ginzburg model. Fluxes not only give masses to scalar fields but can also induce higher order couplings that stabilize massless fields. We investigate this for several different flux choices in the 26model and find two examples that are inconsistent with the Refined Tadpole Conjecture. We also present, to our knowledge, the first 4d$$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 Minkowski solution in string theory without any flat direction.
