Title: Model-independent measurement of D0−D¯0 mixing parameters in D0→KS0π+π− decays at Belle and Belle II
We perform a model-independent measurement of the D 0 D ¯ 0 mixing parameters using samples of e + e -collision data collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments that have integrated luminosities of 951 fb 1 and 408 fb 1 , respectively. Approximately 2.05 × 10 6 neutral D mesons are reconstructed in the D 0 K S 0 π + π channel, with the neutral D flavor tagged by the charge of the pion in the D * + D 0 π + decay. Assuming charge-parity symmetry, the mixing parameters are measured to be x = ( 4.0 ± 1.7 ± 0.4 ) × 10 3 and y = ( 2.9 ± 1.4 ± 0.3 ) × 10 3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with previous determinations.  more » « less

  1. We measure the time-integrated C P asymmetry in D 0 K S 0 K S 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments. The corresponding data samples have integrated luminosities of 980 and 428 fb 1 , respectively. The D 0 decays are required to originate from the D * + D 0 π + decay, which determines the charm flavor at production time. A control sample of D 0 K + K decays is used to correct for production and detection asymmetries. The result, ( 1.4 ± 1.3 ( stat ) ± 0.1 ( syst ) ) % , is consistent with previous determinations and with C P symmetry. Published by the American Physical Society2025

  2. We measure the time- and phase-space-integrated C P asymmetry A C P in D 0 π + π π 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle II experiment from 2019 to 2022. This sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 428 fb 1 . We require D 0 mesons to be produced in D * + D 0 π + decays to determine their flavor at production. Control samples of D 0 K π + decays are used to correct for reconstruction-induced asymmetries. The result, A C P ( D 0 π + π π 0 ) = ( 0.29 ± 0.27 ± 0.13 ) % , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, is the most precise result to date and is consistent with C P conservation.

  3. We report measurements of time-dependent C P asymmetries in B 0 K S 0 π 0 γ decays based on a data sample of ( 388 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ events collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine C P -violating parameters S and C . We determine these parameters for two ranges of K S 0 π 0 invariant mass: m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.8 , 1.0 ) GeV / c 2 , which is dominated by B 0 K * 0 ( K S 0 π 0 ) γ decays, and a complementary region m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.6 , 0.8 ) ( 1.0 , 1.8 ) GeV / c 2 . Our results have improved precision as compared to previous measurements and are consistent with theory predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2025

  4. We report the first observation of the radiative decay D s 0 * ( 2317 ) + D s * + γ with a statistical significance exceeding 10 standard deviations. The signal is observed in the continuum e + e c c ¯ process, using combined data samples of 980.4 fb 1 from Belle and 427.9 fb 1 from Belle II, collected at the KEKB and SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e colliders, respectively. The branching fraction ratio B [ D s 0 * ( 2317 ) + D s * + γ ] / B [ D s 0 * ( 2317 ) + D s + π 0 ] is measured to be [ 7.13 ± 0.70 ( stat ) ± 0.26 ( syst ) ] % . This result provides crucial discrimination between theoretical models of the D s 0 * ( 2317 ) + structure.

  5. We present the first search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay modes B 0 K S 0 τ ± ( = μ , e ) using the 711 and 365 fb 1 data samples recorded by the Belle and Belle II detectors, respectively. We use a hadronic B -tagging technique to fully reconstruct a B meson and search for signal decays in the system recoiling against the tagged meson, considering τ decays to either light leptons, one charged hadron, or one charged hadron and a neutral pion. We find no evidence for B 0 K S 0 τ ± decays and set 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions in the range of [ 0.8 , 3.6 ] × 10 5
