We present a measurement of the branching fraction and time-dependent charge-parity ( ) decay-rate asymmetries in decays. The data sample was collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric collider in 2019–2022 and contains meson pairs from decays. We reconstruct signal decays and fit the parameters from the distribution of the proper-decay-time difference of the two mesons. We measure the branching fraction to be and the direct and mixing-induced asymmetries to be and , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We observe mixing-induced violation with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations for the first time in this mode. Published by the American Physical Society2025

Measurement of the CP asymmetry in D0→π+π−π0 decays at Belle II
We measure the time- and phase-space-integrated asymmetry in decays reconstructed in events collected by the Belle II experiment from 2019 to 2022. This sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of . We require mesons to be produced in decays to determine their flavor at production. Control samples of decays are used to correct for reconstruction-induced asymmetries. The result, , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, is the most precise result to date and is consistent with conservation.

An amplitude analysis of the decay is performed in the mass regions and , using collision data recorded with the LHCb detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The polarization fractions and asymmetries for decays are measured. Violation of the symmetry in the decay is observed for the first time, with a significance exceeding 9 standard deviations. The asymmetry is measured to be and the -averaged longitudinal polarization fraction of . The measurements help to shed light on the polarization puzzle of mesons decaying to two vector mesons.more » « less

We report measurements of time-dependent asymmetries in decays based on a data sample of events collected at the resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine -violating parameters and . We determine these parameters for two ranges of invariant mass: , which is dominated by decays, and a complementary region . Our results have improved precision as compared to previous measurements and are consistent with theory predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2025more » « less

The first four-dimensional amplitude analysis of the decay is performed with proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The data cannot be fully explained by contributions alone. A significantly better description of the data is obtained by adding a contribution decaying to . The properties of the structure are consistent with the exotic state reported in the isospin-related decay. Effects of a possible decay mode on the mass distribution are investigated through a Flatté parametrization, providing constraints on the relative decay strength. A description of the structure using the triangle singularity mechanism is studied and also found to be consistent with the data.more » « less

The first evidence for the decay is obtained using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of , at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. Here, the meson represents any of the three excited charm mesons , , and . The signal is measured with a significance of , including systematic uncertainties. The combined branching fraction , where denotes both and contributions, is measured to be , where the last uncertainty reflects that of the branching fraction of the normalization channel . The ratio between the tauonic and muonic semileptonic decays, with the latter taken from world average values, is also determined and found to be .more » « less
