Title: Observation of the Radiative Decay Ds0*(2317)+→Ds*+γ
We report the first observation of the radiative decay Ds0* (2317)+ Ds*+ γ with a statistical significance exceeding 10 standard deviations. The signal is observed in the continuum e+ecc¯ process, using combined data samples of 980.4fb1 from Belle and 427.9fb1 from Belle II, collected at the KEKB and SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e+e colliders, respectively. The branching fraction ratio B[ Ds0* (2317)+ Ds*+ γ]/B[ Ds0* (2317)+ Ds+ π0] is measured to be [7.13±0.70(stat)±0.26(syst)]% . This result provides crucial discrimination between theoretical models of the Ds0* (2317)+ structure.  more » « less

  1. An amplitude analysis of BDD0 KS0 decays is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb1 , collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. A resonant structure of spin-parity 0+ is observed in the D0KS0 invariant-mass spectrum with a significance of 5.3σ . The mass and width of the state, modeled with a Breit-Wigner line shape, are determined to be 2883±11±8MeV/c2 and 8747+22 ±17MeV , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These properties and the quark content are consistent with those of the open-charm tetraquark candidate Tcs0* (2870)0 observed previously in the D+K final state of the BDD+K decay. This result confirms the existence of the Tcs0* (2870)0 state in a new decay mode. The Tcs1* (2900)0 state, reported in the BDD+K decay, is also searched for in the D0KS0 invariant-mass spectrum of the BDD0KS0 decay, without finding evidence for it. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  2. The production yields of the orbitally excited charm-strange mesons Ds1 (1+)(2536)+ and Ds2* (2+)(2573)+ were measured for the first time in proton-proton (pp) collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The Ds1+ and Ds2*+ mesons were measured at midrapidity ( |y|<0.5 ) in minimum-bias and high-multiplicity pp collisions in the transverse-momentum interval 2< pT <24GeV/c . Their production yields relative to the Ds+ ground-state yield were found to be compatible between minimum-bias and high-multiplicity collisions, as well as with previous measurements in e±p and e+e collisions. The measured Ds1+ /Ds+ and Ds2*+ /Ds+ yield ratios are described by statistical hadronization models and can be used to tune the parameters governing the production of excited charm-strange hadrons in Monte Carlo generators, such as 8.

  3. We measure the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D0KS0KS0 decays reconstructed in e+e cc¯ events collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments. The corresponding data samples have integrated luminosities of 980 and 428fb1 , respectively. The D0 decays are required to originate from the D*+D0π+ decay, which determines the charm flavor at production time. A control sample of D0K+K decays is used to correct for production and detection asymmetries. The result, (1.4±1.3(stat)±0.1(syst))% , is consistent with previous determinations and with CP symmetry. 4. A time- and flavor-integrated amplitude analysis of B0 and Bs0 decays to the (K+π)(Kπ+) final state in the K*(892)0K¯*(892)0 region is presented, using pp collision data recorded with the LHCb detector in 2011–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb1 . The branching fractions of the B0 and Bs0 decays are measured relative to the B0Dπ+ and Bs0Dsπ+ modes, respectively. The corresponding longitudinal polarization fractions are found to be fLd=0.600±0.022±0.017 and fLs=0.159±0.010±0.007 , where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The theory-motivated ratio of the squared Bs0 to B0 longitudinally polarized decay amplitudes is found to be LK*0K¯*0 =4.92±0.55±0.48±0.02±0.10 , where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, due to uncertainty of external mass and lifetime measurements, and due to knowledge of the fragmentation fraction ratio, respectively. This confirms the previously reported tension between experimental determinations and theoretical predictions of longitudinal polarization in BVV decays at the level of 4.4 standard deviations.

  5. We perform a model-independent measurement of the D0 D¯ 0 mixing parameters using samples of e+e -collision data collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments that have integrated luminosities of 951fb1 and 408fb1 , respectively. Approximately 2.05×106 neutral D mesons are reconstructed in the D0KS0π+π channel, with the neutral D flavor tagged by the charge of the pion in the D*+D0π+ decay. Assuming charge-parity symmetry, the mixing parameters are measured to be x=(4.0±1.7±0.4)×103 and y=(2.9±1.4±0.3)×103 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with previous determinations.
