Title: Observation and investigation of the Tcc¯1(4430)+ structure in B+→ψ(2S)KS0π+ decays
The first four-dimensional amplitude analysis of the B+→ψ(2S)KS0π+ decay is performed with proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at s=13  TeV , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4  fb−1 . The data cannot be fully explained by B+→ψ(2S)K*+ contributions alone. A significantly better description of the data is obtained by adding a T cc¯ + contribution decaying to ψ(2S)π+ . The properties of the T cc¯ + structure are consistent with the exotic state T cc¯1 (4430)+ reported in the isospin-related B¯0→ψ(2S)K−π+ decay. Effects of a possible T cc¯1 (4430)+→ D¯1* (2600)0D+ decay mode on the T cc¯1 (4430)+→ψ(2S)π+ mass distribution are investigated through a Flatté parametrization, providing constraints on the relative decay strength. A description of the T cc¯1 (4430)+ structure using the triangle singularity mechanism is studied and also found to be consistent with the data.  more » « less

  1. The time-dependent CP asymmetry in B0→J/ψρ(770)0 decays is measured using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6  fb−1 , collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV during the years 2015–2018. The CP -violation parameters for this process are determined to be 2 β c c¯ d eff =0.710±0.084±0.051  rad and |λ|=1.019±0.034±0.024 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This constitutes the first observation of time-dependent CP violation in B0→J/ψρ(770)0 decays. Assuming approximate SU(3) flavor symmetry, these results are combined with the previous consistent LHCb measurement to set the most stringent constraint on the penguin contribution, Δϕs , to the CP -violating phase ϕs in Bs0→J/ψϕ(1020) decays, yielding Δϕs=5.0±4.6  mrad .

  2. We report the results of the first search for B− decays to the Ξ¯ c0 Λ¯ c− final state using 711  fb−1 of data collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating B− decay and Ξc0 − Ξ¯ c0 oscillations which follow the standard model decay B−→ Ξc0 Λ¯ c− . We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions B(B−→ Ξ¯ c0 Λ¯ c− ) / B(B−→ Ξc0 Λ¯ c− ) to be <2.7% and on the effective angular frequency of mixing ω in Ξc0 − Ξ¯ c0 oscillations to be <0.76  ps−1 (equivalent to τmix >1.3  ps ). 3. A search for the charmless baryonic decay B+→Λ¯pp¯p is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4  fb−1 . The branching fraction for this decay is measured for the first time relative to that of the topologically similar decay B+→ J/ψK+ , with J/ψ→ Λ¯pK− . The branching fraction is measured to be B(B+→Λ¯pp¯p)=(2.15±0.35±0.12±0.28)×10−7 , where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third arises from the uncertainty in the normalization channel branching fraction. The CP asymmetry is measured to be ACP =(5.4±15.6±2.4)% , where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic. The background-subtracted invariant-mass distributions of Λ¯p and p¯p pairs exhibit pronounced enhancements at both kinematic thresholds, in contrast to a uniform phase-space distribution.

  4. The ratio of branching fractions R(D*)=B(B¯→D*τ− ν¯τ )/B(B¯→D*ℓ− ν¯ℓ ) , where ℓ is an electron or muon, is measured using a Belle II data sample with an integrated luminosity of 189  fb−1 at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. Data is collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance, and one B meson in the ϒ(4S)→BB¯ decay is fully reconstructed in hadronic decay modes. The accompanying signal B meson is reconstructed as B¯→D*τ− ν¯τ using leptonic τ decays. The normalization decay, B¯→D*ℓ− ν¯ℓ , produces the same observable final-state particles. The ratio of branching fractions is extracted in a simultaneous fit to two signal-discriminating variables in both channels and yields R(D*)= 0.262−0.039+0.041 (stat )−0.032+0.035 (syst) . This result is consistent with the current world average and with Standard Model predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2024

  5. A search for the rare decay B+→ Λ¯ pμ+μ− is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of s =13  TeV , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4  fb−1 . An excess of events is found with respect to the background-only expectation, with a signal significance of 3.5 standard deviations, in the low invariant-mass region of m( Λ¯ p)<2.8  GeV/c2 . The branching fraction is measured to be Blow (B+→ Λ¯ pμ+μ− )= (1.7 0−0.56+0.65 (stat)±0.17(syst)±0.14(ext)) ×10−8 , where the last uncertainty is due to external inputs on B(B+→ J/ψ Λ¯ p )×B(J/ψ→μ+μ−) . With no significant signal observed in the high m(Λ¯p) region above 2.8  GeV/c2 , an upper limit is set to be Bhigh (B+→ Λ¯ pμ+μ− )<2.8(3.7)×10−9 at the 90% (95%) confidence level.
