Title: Study of the B0→Λc+Λ¯c−KS0 decay
The decay B0→ Λc+ Λ¯ c− KS0 is studied at LHCb for the first time using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of s=13  TeV , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4  fb−1 . The branching ratio relative to the decay B+→ Λc+ Λ¯ c− K+ is measured to be [ B(B0→ Λc+ Λ¯ c− KS0 )]/[B(B+→ Λc+ Λ¯ c− K+)]=0.53±0.05±0.05 where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Evidence is found for contributions from two resonant states, Ξc(2923)+ and Ξc(2939)+ , in the Λc+KS0 system. The two states show a significance of 3.9σ relative to the nonresonant hypothesis. These two Ξc+ states are consistent with being the isospin partners of the states observed in the Λc+K− system.  more » « less

  1. We report the results of the first search for B− decays to the Ξ¯ c0 Λ¯ c− final state using 711  fb−1 of data collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating B− decay and Ξc0 − Ξ¯ c0 oscillations which follow the standard model decay B−→ Ξc0 Λ¯ c− . We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions B(B−→ Ξ¯ c0 Λ¯ c− ) / B(B−→ Ξc0 Λ¯ c− ) to be <2.7% and on the effective angular frequency of mixing ω in Ξc0 − Ξ¯ c0 oscillations to be <0.76  ps−1 (equivalent to τmix >1.3  ps ). 2. A search is presented for the two-body charmed baryonic decays, B¯ (s)0 → Λc+ Λ¯ c− , using a data sample collected by the LHCb experiment during 2011–2012 and 2015–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9  fb−1 . The first observation of the B¯ s0 → Λc+ Λ¯ c− decay is reported with 6.2σ significance along with 4.3σ evidence for the B¯ 0 → Λc+ Λ¯ c− decay. The branching fractions are measured to be B( B¯ 0 → Λc+ Λ¯ c− )=(1.0 1−0.28+0.27 ±0.08±0.15)×10−5 and B( B¯ s0 → Λc+ Λ¯ c− )=(5.0±1.3±0.5±0.8)×10−5 , where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to external inputs. These results provide novel experimental inputs for the theoretical framework describing two-body baryonic decays of B mesons via W -emission and W -exchange mechanisms.

  3. The Λb0 → Λc+ Ds− K+K− decay is observed for the first time using the data sample from proton-proton collisions recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6  fb−1 . The ratio of branching fraction to that of Λb0→Λc+Ds− decays is measured as 0.0141±0.0019±0.0012 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. A search for hidden-charm pentaquarks with strangeness is performed in the Λc+Ds− system. No evidence is found, and upper limits on the production ratio of P cc¯s (4338)0 and P cc¯s (4459)0 pentaquarks relative to the Λc+Ds− final state are set at the 95% confidence level as 0.12 and 0.20, respectively.

  4. A study of Λb0 and Ξb0 decays to Λh+h′− ( h(′)=π,K ) is performed using pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment during LHC Runs 1–2, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9  fb−1 . The branching fractions for these decays are measured using the Λb0 → Λc+ (→Λπ+)π− decay as a control channel. The decays Λb0→Λπ+π− and Ξb0→ΛK−π+ are observed for the first time. For decay modes with sufficient signal yields, CP asymmetries are measured in the full and localized regions of the final-state phase space. Evidence is found for CP violation in the Λb0→ΛK+K− decay, interpreted as originating primarily from an asymmetric Λb0→N*+K− decay amplitude. The measured CP asymmetries for other decays are compatible with zero. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  5. Using data samples of 988.4  fb−1 and 427.9  fb−1 collected with the Belle and Belle II detectors, we present a study of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Ξc0→Λη , Λη′ , and Λπ0 . We observe the decay  Ξc0→Λη and find evidence for the decay Ξc0→Λη′ , with corresponding branching ratios determined to be B(Ξc0→Λη) / B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+) =(4.16±0.91±0.23)% and B(Ξc0→Λη′) / B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+) =(2.48±0.82±0.12)% , respectively. We find no significant signal in the Ξc0→Λπ0 decay mode and set an upper limit at the 90% credibility level of B(Ξc0→Λπ0) / B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+) <3.5% . Multiplying these ratios by the world-average branching fraction of the normalization channel, B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=(1.43±0.27)% , we obtain the absolute branching fractions of B(Ξc0→Λη)=(5.95±1.30±0.32±1.13)×10−4 , B(Ξc0→Λη′)=(3.55±1.17±0.17±0.68)×10−4 , and an upper limit at the 90% credibility level on the absolute branching fraction of B(Ξc0→Λπ0)<5.2×10−4 . The quoted first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third uncertainties arise from the branching fraction of the normalization mode. These results are consistent with most theoretical predictions and further the understanding of the underlying decay mechanisms.
