We report measurements of production cross sections for , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and in collisions at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV. The data were recorded by the Belle experiment, consisting of at 10.58 GeV and at 10.52 GeV. Production cross sections are extracted as a function of the fractional hadron momentum . The measurements are compared to Monte Carlo generator predictions with various fragmentation settings, including those that have increased fragmentation into vector mesons over pseudoscalar mesons. The cross sections measured for light hadrons are consistent with no additional increase of vector over pseudoscalar mesons. The charmed-meson cross sections are compared to earlier measurements—when available—including older Belle results, which they supersede. They are in agreement before application of an improved initial-state radiation correction procedure that causes slight changes in their shapes. We report the first search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decays , where is a hadronic system with strangeness equal to 1, in data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of collected at the resonance and collected at a center-of-mass energy 60 MeV below resonance for estimation of continuum background. One of the mesons from the decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. The decay is reconstructed with a sum-of-exclusives approach that uses 30 decay modes. This approach provides high sensitivity to the inclusive decay, despite the presence of two undetected neutrinos. The search is performed in three regions of the mass, , chosen to separate contributions from , , and heavier strange final states. We do not observe a significant signal and set upper limits at 90% confidence level on the partial branching fractions for the regions , , and of , , and , respectively. A<sc>bstract</sc> We study the processesχbJωandχbJ(π+π−π0)non−ω(J= 0, 1, 2) at center-of-mass energies$$\sqrt{s}$$from 10.73 to 11.02 GeV using a 142.5 fb−1data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+e−collider; and at$$\sqrt{s}\sim 10.75$$GeV using a 19.8 fb−1sample collected with Belle II at SuperKEKB. We find that the Υ(10753) state decays intoχbJωbut not intoχbJ(π+π−π0)non−ω, while the Υ(10860) state, in contrast, decays intoχbJ(π+π−π0)non−ωbut not intoχbJω. The mass and width of the Υ(10753) state are measured to be (10756.1 ± 3.4(stat.) ± 2.7(syst.)) MeV/c2and (32.2 ± 11.3(stat.) ± 14.9(syst.)) MeV. We search for excited charmed baryons in the system using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The data were collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. No significant signals are found in the mass spectrum, including the known and . We present an analysis of the processes , , and with ( , 2) reconstructed from final states in of Belle II data collected at four energy points near the peak of the resonance. Here, is a hypothetical bottomonium-sector partner of the . In the process , we observe a signal with a significance that exceeds when all energy points are combined. A signal with a significance of is observed at a center-of-mass energy of 10.653 GeV, close to the threshold. At this energy, we measure at the 90% confidence level, indicating a strong violation of heavy-quark spin symmetry. No significant signal is observed for or . Abstract This paper presents the expected sensitivity to the neutrino oscillation parameters of the Hyper-Kamiokande long-baseline program. The Hyper-Kamiokande experiment, currently under construction in Japan, will measure the oscillations of accelerator-produced neutrinos with thousands of selected events per sample: this corresponds to an increase of statistics of a factor 25–100 with respect to recent results from the currently-running long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment in Japan, T2K. In the most favorable scenario we will achieve the discovery of Charge-Parity (CP) violation in neutrino oscillation at$$5\sigma $$ C.L. in less than 3 years. With 10 years of data-taking, and assuming a neutrino : antineutrino beam running ratio of 1:3, a CP violation discovery at$$5\sigma $$ C.L. is possible for more than 60% of the actual values of the CP-violating phase,$$\delta _{CP}.$$ Moreover, we will measure$$\delta _{CP}$$ with a precision ranging from 20$$^{\circ },$$ in the case of maximal CP violation, to 6$$^{\circ },$$ in the case of CP conservation. We aim to achieve a 0.5% resolution on the$$\Delta m^2_{32}$$ parameter, and a resolution between 3% and 0.5% on the$$\sin ^2\theta _{23}$$ parameter, depending on its true value. We report the results of the first search for decays to the final state using of data collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating decay and oscillations which follow the standard model decay . We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and standard model branching fractions to be and on the effective angular frequency of mixing in oscillations to be (equivalent to ). We present a comprehensive study of decays using pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. This process is a suppressed charmless decay into two vector mesons and can exhibit interesting polarization and violation. The decay is observed for the first time with a significance of 7.9 standard deviations. We measure a branching fraction , a fraction of longitudinal polarization , and a time-integrated asymmetry , where the first uncertainties listed are statistical and the second are systematic. A<sc>bstract</sc> We report a search for an axion-like particleainB→K(*)adecays using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. The search is based on a 711 fb−1data sample collected at the Υ(4S) resonance energy, corresponding to a sample of 772 × 106Υ(4S) events. In this study, we search for the decay of the axion-like particle into a pair of photons,a→γγ. We scan the two-photon invariant mass in the range 0.16 GeV–4.50 GeV for theKmodes and 0.16 GeV–4.20 GeV for theK*modes. No significant signal is observed in any of the modes, and 90% confidence level upper limits are established on the coupling to theWboson,gaW, as a function ofamass. We present a determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element from the decay using a data sample recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider. The semileptonic decay of one meson is reconstructed in the modes and , where denotes either an electron or a muon. Charge conjugation is implied. The second meson in the event is not reconstructed explicitly. Using an inclusive reconstruction of the unobserved neutrino momentum, we determine the recoil variable , where and are the four-velocities of the and mesons. We measure the total decay branching fractions to be and . We probe lepton flavor universality by measuring .
