  1. We report the first search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decays B X s ν ν ¯ , where X s is a hadronic system with strangeness equal to 1, in data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 365 fb 1 collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance and 43 fb 1 collected at a center-of-mass energy 60 MeV below resonance for estimation of e + e q q ¯ continuum background. One of the B mesons from the ϒ ( 4 S ) B B ¯ decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. The B X s ν ν ¯ decay is reconstructed with a sum-of-exclusives approach that uses 30 X s decay modes. This approach provides high sensitivity to the inclusive decay, despite the presence of two undetected neutrinos. The search is performed in three regions of the X s mass, M X s true , chosen to separate contributions from K , K * ( 892 ) , and heavier strange final states. We do not observe a significant signal and set upper limits at 90% confidence level on the partial branching fractions for the regions 0.0 < M X s true < 0.6 GeV / c 2 , 0.6 < M X s true < 1.0 GeV / c 2 , and 1.0 GeV / c 2 < M X s true of 2.2 × 10 5 , 9.3 × 10 5 , and 30.9 × 10 5 , respectively. Combining the three mass regions, we obtain the upper limit on the branching fraction, B ( B X s ν ν ¯ ) < 3.3 × 10 4

  2. A<sc>bstract</sc> We study the processesχbJωandχbJ+ππ0)non−ω(J= 0, 1, 2) at center-of-mass energies$$\sqrt{s}$$from 10.73 to 11.02 GeV using a 142.5 fb−1data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+ecollider; and at$$\sqrt{s}\sim 10.75$$GeV using a 19.8 fb−1sample collected with Belle II at SuperKEKB. We find that the Υ(10753) state decays intoχbJωbut not intoχbJ+ππ0)non−ω, while the Υ(10860) state, in contrast, decays intoχbJ+ππ0)non−ωbut not intoχbJω. The mass and width of the Υ(10753) state are measured to be (10756.1 ± 3.4(stat.) ± 2.7(syst.)) MeV/c2and (32.2 ± 11.3(stat.) ± 14.9(syst.)) MeV. The products of the partial width toe+eand branching fractions for Υ(10753)→ χb1ωand Υ(10753)→ χb2ωare (1.57±0.27(stat.)±0.22(syst.)) eV and (1.39±0.41(stat.)±0.33(syst.)) eV.

  3. We search for the e + e γ χ b J ( J = 0 , 1, 2) processes at center-of-mass energies s = 10.653 , 10.701, 10.746, and 10.804 GeV. These data were collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider and correspond to 3.5, 1.6, 9.8, and 4.7 fb 1 of integrated luminosity, respectively. We set upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the Born cross sections for e + e γ χ b J at each center-of-mass energy s near 10.746 GeV. The upper limits at 90% confidence level on the Born cross sections for e + e γ χ b 1 are significantly smaller than the corresponding measured values for e + e ω χ b 1 and e + e π + π ϒ ( 2 S ) at s = 10.746 GeV

  4. We present an analysis of the processes e + e η ϒ ( 1 S ) , η ϒ ( 2 S ) , and γ X b with X b π + π χ b J , χ b J γ ϒ ( 1 S ) ( J = 1 , 2) reconstructed from γ γ π + π + ( = e , μ ) final states in 19.6 fb 1 of Belle II data collected at four energy points near the peak of the ϒ ( 10753 ) resonance. Here, X b is a hypothetical bottomonium-sector partner of the X ( 3872 ) . In the process e + e η ϒ ( 2 S ) , we observe a signal with a significance that exceeds 6.0 σ when all energy points are combined. A signal with a significance of 4.2 σ is observed at a center-of-mass energy of 10.653 GeV, close to the B * B ¯ * threshold. At this energy, we measure σ ( η ϒ ( 2 S ) ) / σ ( π + π ϒ ( 2 S ) ) > 23 at the 90% confidence level, indicating a strong violation of heavy-quark spin symmetry. No significant signal is observed for e + e η ϒ ( 1 S ) or γ X b . Upper limits on the Born cross sections for the processes e + e η ϒ ( 1 S ) and e + e γ X b with X b π + π χ b J are determined.

We present a determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element | V c b | from the decay B D ν using a 365 fb 1 e + e ϒ ( 4 S ) B B ¯ data sample recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider. The semileptonic decay of one B meson is reconstructed in the modes B 0 D ( K + π π ) + ν and B + D ¯ 0 ( K + π ) + ν , where denotes either an electron or a muon. Charge conjugation is implied. The second B meson in the ϒ ( 4 S ) event is not reconstructed explicitly. Using an inclusive reconstruction of the unobserved neutrino momentum, we determine the recoil variable w = v B · v D , where v B and v D are the four-velocities of the B and D mesons. We measure the total decay branching fractions to be B ( B 0 D + ν ) = ( 2.06 ± 0.05 ( stat ) ± 0.10 ( sys ) ) % and B ( B + D ¯ 0 + ν ) = ( 2.31 ± 0.04 ( stat ) ± 0.09 ( sys ) ) % . We probe lepton flavor universality by measuring B ( B D e ν e ) / B ( B D μ ν μ ) = 1.020 ± 0.020 ( stat ) ± 0.022 ( sys ) . Fitting the partial decay branching fraction as a function of w and using the average of lattice QCD calculations of the B D form factor, we obtain | V c b | = ( 39.2 ± 0.4 ( stat ) ± 0.6 ( sys ) ± 0.5 ( th ) ) × 10 3

  6. A<sc>bstract</sc> We present the result of a search for the charged-lepton-flavor violating decaysτ→ e±, whereℓis a muon or an electron, using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 428 fb−1recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKBe+ecollider. The selection ofe+e→ τ+τevents containing a signal candidate is based on an inclusive-tagging reconstruction and on a boosted decision tree to suppress background. Upper limits on the branching fractions between 1.3 and 2.5 × 10−8are set at the 90% confidence level. These results are the most stringent bounds to date for four of the modes.

  7. We present a measurement of the branching fraction and fraction of longitudinal polarization of B 0 ρ + ρ decays, which have two π 0 ’s in the final state. We also measure time-dependent C P violation parameters for decays into longitudinally polarized ρ + ρ pairs. This analysis is based on a data sample containing ( 387 ± 6 ) × 10 6 ϒ ( 4 S ) mesons collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider in 2019–2022. We obtain B ( B 0 ρ + ρ ) = ( 2.8 9 0.22 + 0.23 0.27 + 0.29 ) × 10 5 , f L = 0.92 1 0.025 + 0.024 0.015 + 0.017 , S = 0.26 ± 0.19 ± 0.08 , and C = 0.02 ± 0.1 2 0.05 + 0.06 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We use these results to perform an isospin analysis to constrain the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle ϕ 2 and obtain two solutions; the result consistent with other Standard Model constraints is ϕ 2 = ( 92.6 4.7 + 4.5 ) ° . A<sc>bstract</sc> Using data samples of 983.0 fb−1and 427.9 fb−1accumulated with the Belle and Belle II detectors operating at the KEKB and SuperKEKB asymmetric-energye+ecolliders, singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays$$ {\Xi}_c^{+}\to p{K}_S^0 $$ Ξ c + p K S 0 ,$$ {\Xi}_c^{+}\to \Lambda {\pi}^{+} $$ Ξ c + Λ π + , and$$ {\Xi}_c^{+}\to {\Sigma}^0{\pi}^{+} $$ Ξ c + Σ 0 π + are observed for the first time.   9. We present a search for the rare flavor-changing neutral-current decay B 0 K * 0 τ + τ with data collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider. The analysis uses a 365 fb 1 data sample recorded at the center-of-mass energy of the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance. One of the B mesons produced in the ϒ ( 4 S ) B 0 B ¯ 0 process is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, while its companion B meson is required to decay into a K * 0 and two τ leptons of opposite charge. The τ leptons are reconstructed in final states with a single electron, muon, charged pion or charged ρ meson, and additional neutrinos. We set an upper limit on the branching fraction of B ( B 0 K * 0 τ + τ ) < 1.8 × 10 3 at the 90% confidence level, which is the most stringent constraint reported to date.

We measure the branching fraction and C P -violating flavor-dependent rate asymmetry of B 0 π 0 π 0 decays reconstructed using the Belle II detector in an electron-positron collision sample containing 387 × 10 6 ϒ ( 4 S ) mesons. Using an optimized event selection, we find 125 ± 20 signal decays in a fit to background-discriminating and flavor-sensitive distributions. The resulting branching fraction is ( 1.25 ± 0.23 ) × 10 6 and the C P -violating asymmetry is 0.03 ± 0.30 . Published by the American Physical Society2025
