  1. The rapid evolution of computing demands curricula that reflect modern practices, yet many CS1 and CS2 courses continue to emphasize only sequential programming. This NSF-funded project addresses that gap by designing and disseminating exemplar CS1 and CS2 courses that integrate parallel, distributed, and event-driven computing as core concepts. The materials include unplugged activities and programming labs for both C++ and Java. To ensure broad applicability and adoption, development occurred in collaboration with instructors from six diverse institutions who are now implementing the materials. Evaluation includes surveys, assignment-specific instruments, and cross-team analysis. This poster presents the project’s vision, methods, and resources, highlighting how others can adopt and adapt them to teach modern computing.

  2. Welcome to the proceedings of EduHPC24, the Workshop on Education for High Performance Computing, held in Atlanta, Georgia on November 17, 2024, in conjunction with the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC24). EduHPC has been a regular workshop of the SC conference since 2013, devoted to the development of reproducible educational and curricular innovations and resources for undergraduate and graduate education in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDC). The workshop particularly focuses on connecting individuals from academia, industry, national laboratories, and funding agencies with the goal of exchanging ideas on the enhancement and infusion of HPC, PDC, and Big Data education. EduHPC is in coordination with the IEEE TCPP curriculum initiative on parallel and distributed computing (http://www.cs.gsu.edu/~tcpp/curriculum) for computer science and computer engineering undergraduates and is supported by NSF and the NSF-supported Center for Parallel and Distributed Computing Curriculum Development and Educational Resources (CDER).

  5. Welcome to the 4 th Workshop on Education for High Performance Computing (EduHiPC 2022). The EduHiPC 2022 workshop, held in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing Data & Analytics (HiPC 2022), is devoted to the development and assessment of educational and curricular innovations and resources for undergraduate and graduate education in Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDC) and High Performance Computing (HPC). EduHiPC brings together individuals from academia, industry, and other educational and research institutes to explore new ideas, challenges, and experiences related to PDC pedagogy and curricula. The workshop is designed in coordination with the IEEE TCPP curriculum initiative on parallel and distributed computing ( hitps://tcpp.cs.gsu .edu/curriculum/) for undergraduates majoring in computer science and computer engineering. It is supported by C-DAC, India and the US National Science Foundation (NSF) supported Center for Parallel and Distributed Computing Curriculum Development and Educational Resources (CDER). Details for attending the workshop are available on the HiPC webpage (HiPC). The effect of pandemic on academic and research community seems now to be globally receding as was evident from the enthusiastic in-person participation of conference delegates. Please visit the EduHiPC-22 webpage for the complete online proceedings, including copies of papers and presentation slides: EduHiPC 2022 | NSF/IEEE-TCPP Curriculum Initiative.
