We present a search for the baryon number and lepton number violating decays and produced from the process, using a data sample collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider. No evidence of signal is found in either decay mode, which have equal to 2 and 0, respectively. Isosinglet vectorlike leptons at e+e− colliders
We study weak isosinglet vectorlike leptons that decay through a small mixing with the tau lepton, for which the discovery and exclusion reaches of the Large Hadron Collider and future proposed hadron colliders are limited. We show how an e+e− collider may act as a discovery machine for these τ′ particles, demonstrate that the τ′ mass peak can be reconstructed in a variety of distinct signal regions, and explain how the τ′ branching ratios may be measured.

We report on a search for a resonance decaying to a pair of muons in events in the mass range, using of data collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider at a center of mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The analysis probes two different models of beyond the standard model: a vector boson in the model and a muonphilic scalar. We observe no evidence for a signal and set exclusion limits at the 90% confidence level on the products of cross section and branching fraction for these processes, ranging from 0.046 fb to 0.97 fb for the model and from 0.055 fb to 1.3 fb for the muonphilic scalar model. For masses below , the corresponding constraints on the couplings of these processes to the standard model range from 0.0008 to 0.039 for the model and from 0.0018 to 0.040 for the muonphilic scalar model. We report a measurement of the cross section in the energy range from 0.62 to 3.50 GeV using an initial-state radiation technique. We use an data sample corresponding to of integrated luminosity, collected at a center-of-mass energy at or near the resonance with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. Signal yields are extracted by fitting the two-photon mass distribution in events, which involve a decay and an energetic photon radiated from the initial state. Signal efficiency corrections with an accuracy of 1.6% are obtained from several control data samples. The uncertainty on the cross section at the and resonances is dominated by the systematic uncertainty of 2.2%. The resulting cross sections in the 0.62–1.80 GeV energy range yield for the leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. We report measurements of production cross sections for , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and in collisions at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV. The data were recorded by the Belle experiment, consisting of at 10.58 GeV and at 10.52 GeV. Production cross sections are extracted as a function of the fractional hadron momentum . The measurements are compared to Monte Carlo generator predictions with various fragmentation settings, including those that have increased fragmentation into vector mesons over pseudoscalar mesons. The cross sections measured for light hadrons are consistent with no additional increase of vector over pseudoscalar mesons. The charmed-meson cross sections are compared to earlier measurements—when available—including older Belle results, which they supersede. They are in agreement before application of an improved initial-state radiation correction procedure that causes slight changes in their shapes. A search for meson decays to the and final states is reported using a sample of proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The decay is observed for the first time when requiring that the two electrons are consistent with coming from the decay of a or meson. The corresponding branching fractions are measured relative to the decay, where the two electrons are consistent with coming from the decay of a or meson. No evidence is found for the decay and world-best limits are set on its branching fraction.
