Title: Measurement of the branching fraction and CP -violating asymmetry of the decay B0→π0π0 using 387 million ϒ(4S) decays in Belle II data
We measure the branching fraction and C P -violating flavor-dependent rate asymmetry of B 0 π 0 π 0 decays reconstructed using the Belle II detector in an electron-positron collision sample containing 387 × 10 6 ϒ ( 4 S ) mesons. Using an optimized event selection, we find 125 ± 20 signal decays in a fit to background-discriminating and flavor-sensitive distributions. The resulting branching fraction is ( 1.25 ± 0.23 ) × 10 6 and the C P -violating asymmetry is 0.03 ± 0.30 . Published by the American Physical Society2025  more » « less

  1. We report measurements of time-dependent C P asymmetries in B 0 K S 0 π 0 γ decays based on a data sample of ( 388 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ events collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine C P -violating parameters S and C . We determine these parameters for two ranges of K S 0 π 0 invariant mass: m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.8 , 1.0 ) GeV / c 2 , which is dominated by B 0 K * 0 ( K S 0 π 0 ) γ decays, and a complementary region m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.6 , 0.8 ) ( 1.0 , 1.8 ) GeV / c 2 . Our results have improved precision as compared to previous measurements and are consistent with theory predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2025

  2. We measure the time- and phase-space-integrated C P asymmetry A C P in D 0 π + π π 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle II experiment from 2019 to 2022. This sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 428 fb 1 . We require D 0 mesons to be produced in D * + D 0 π + decays to determine their flavor at production. Control samples of D 0 K π + decays are used to correct for reconstruction-induced asymmetries. The result, A C P ( D 0 π + π π 0 ) = ( 0.29 ± 0.27 ± 0.13 ) % , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, is the most precise result to date and is consistent with C P conservation.

  3. Lepton flavor universality in rare b s transitions is tested for the first time using B s 0 meson decays. The measurements are performed using p p collision data collected by the LHCb experiment between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb 1 . Branching fraction ratios between the B s 0 ϕ e + e and B s 0 ϕ μ + μ decays are measured in three regions of dilepton mass squared, q 2 , with 0.1 < q 2 < 1.1 , 1.1 < q 2 < 6.0 , and 15 < q 2 < 19 GeV 2 / c 4 . The results agree with the standard model expectation of lepton flavor universality. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  4. We perform a model-independent measurement of the D 0 D ¯ 0 mixing parameters using samples of e + e -collision data collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments that have integrated luminosities of 951 fb 1 and 408 fb 1 , respectively. Approximately 2.05 × 10 6 neutral D mesons are reconstructed in the D 0 K S 0 π + π channel, with the neutral D flavor tagged by the charge of the pion in the D * + D 0 π + decay. Assuming charge-parity symmetry, the mixing parameters are measured to be x = ( 4.0 ± 1.7 ± 0.4 ) × 10 3 and y = ( 2.9 ± 1.4 ± 0.3 ) × 10 3 , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with previous determinations.

  5. We report the results of the first search for Standard Model and baryon-number-violating two-body decays of the neutral B mesons to Λ 0 and Ω c ( * ) 0 using 711 fb 1 of data collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. We observe no evidence of signal from any such decays and set 95% confidence-level upper limits on the products of B 0 and B ¯ 0 branching fractions for these two-body decays with B ( Ω c 0 π + Ω ) in the range between 9.5 × 10 8 and 31.2 × 10 8 .
