Title: Measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D0→KS0KS0 decays using Belle and Belle II data
We measure the time-integrated C P asymmetry in D 0 K S 0 K S 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments. The corresponding data samples have integrated luminosities of 980 and 428 fb 1 , respectively. The D 0 decays are required to originate from the D * + D 0 π + decay, which determines the charm flavor at production time. A control sample of D 0 K + K decays is used to correct for production and detection asymmetries. The result, ( 1.4 ± 1.3 ( stat ) ± 0.1 ( syst ) ) % , is consistent with previous determinations and with C P symmetry. Published by the American Physical Society2025  more » « less

  1. We report measurements of time-dependent C P asymmetries in B 0 K S 0 π 0 γ decays based on a data sample of ( 388 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ events collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine C P -violating parameters S and C . We determine these parameters for two ranges of K S 0 π 0 invariant mass: m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.8 , 1.0 ) GeV / c 2 , which is dominated by B 0 K * 0 ( K S 0 π 0 ) γ decays, and a complementary region m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.6 , 0.8 ) ( 1.0 , 1.8 ) GeV / c 2 . Our results have improved precision as compared to previous measurements and are consistent with theory predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2025

  2. An amplitude analysis of B D D 0 K S 0 decays is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb 1 , collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. A resonant structure of spin-parity 0 + is observed in the D 0 K S 0 invariant-mass spectrum with a significance of 5.3 σ . The mass and width of the state, modeled with a Breit-Wigner line shape, are determined to be 2883 ± 11 ± 8 MeV / c 2 and 87 47 + 22 ± 17 MeV , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These properties and the quark content are consistent with those of the open-charm tetraquark candidate T c s 0 * ( 2870 ) 0 observed previously in the D + K final state of the B D D + K decay. This result confirms the existence of the T c s 0 * ( 2870 ) 0 state in a new decay mode. The T c s 1 * ( 2900 ) 0 state, reported in the B D D + K decay, is also searched for in the D 0 K S 0 invariant-mass spectrum of the B D D 0 K S 0 decay, without finding evidence for it. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  3. We report the result of a search for the rare decay B 0 γ γ using a combined dataset of 753 × 10 6 B B ¯ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and 387 × 10 6 B B ¯ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment from decays of the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance produced in e + e collisions. A simultaneous fit to the Belle and Belle II data sets yields 11.0 5.5 + 6.5 signal events, corresponding to a 2.5 σ significance. We determine the branching fraction B ( B 0 γ γ ) = ( 3.7 1.8 + 2.2 ( stat ) ± 0.5 ( syst ) ) × 10 8 and set a 90% credibility level upper limit of B ( B 0 γ γ ) < 6.4 × 10 8 . 4. We present GFlaT, a new algorithm that uses a graph-neural-network to determine the flavor of neutral B mesons produced in ϒ ( 4 S ) decays. It improves previous algorithms by using the information from all charged final-state particles and the relations between them. We evaluate its performance using B decays to flavor-specific hadronic final states reconstructed in a 362 fb 1 sample of electron-positron collisions collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. We achieve an effective tagging efficiency of ( 37.40 ± 0.43 ± 0.36 % ) , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, which is 18% better than the previous Belle II algorithm. Demonstrating the algorithm, we use B 0 J / ψ K S 0 decays to measure the mixing-induced and direct C P violation parameters, S = ( 0.724 ± 0.035 ± 0.009 ) and C = ( 0.035 ± 0.026 ± 0.029 ) . 5. We report a measurement of decay-time-dependent charge-parity ( C P ) asymmetries in B 0 K S 0 K S 0 K S 0 decays. We use 387 × 10 6 B B ¯ pairs collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. We reconstruct 220 signal events and extract the C P -violating parameters S and C from a fit to the distribution of the decay-time difference between the two B mesons. The resulting confidence region is consistent with previous measurements in B 0 K S 0 K S 0 K S 0 and B 0 ( c c ¯ ) K 0 decays and with predictions based on the standard model.
