Title: Fourth of July Creek - Transient Residence Time and Travel Time Distributions
{"Abstract":["This compressed tarball archive contains the Matlab datasets of the Base-case (denoted SR for "Standard run"), wet case (WR) and dry case (DR) for the transient residence time and travel time distributions and a Matlab script that plots them for the Zonal conceptual model or any of the 250 realizations in the stochastic ensemble. The details of the flow simulations that led to these distributions can be found by searching for "Fourth of July Creek" in the research archive and also through Dr. Engdahl's Google Scholar page."]}  more » « less

  1. This compressed tarball archive contains the datasets and scripts necessary to visualize the residence time distributions, travel time distributions, and storage selection functions for the Fourth of July Creek transient simulations. The scripts and datasets are formatted as Matlab m-file scripts and MAT archives.

  2. {"Abstract":["The compressed tarball archive contains the simulation files for the Fourth of July Creek basin in the White Clouds mountains of central Idah0, USA under wet, normal, and dry flow conditions using reconstructed, transient inputs. This archive builds on the "Fourth of July Creek Ensemble Simulation Outputs" (doi: 10.7273/000004796) by adding consideration of fully transient conditions and the associated uncertainty. Combined with that archive, all the files necessary to reproduce the runs are provided here. The runs are computationally demanding so this archive also contains the minimally processed datasets of the large outputs including pressure heads and/or streamflow at the monitoring locations and streamflow along the main stem of the creek. Contained in the "Output" folder is the dataset (saved as a Matlab data object) and scripts to plot the responses at monitoring locations or along the main stem."]}

  3. This archive contains field data used to investigate swash velocities by Britt Raubenheimer, Steve Elgar, and Alexandra Muscalus. The quality controlled cross-shore velocity time series are in the .zip folder "u", and the quality-controlled alongshore velocity time series are in the .zip folder "v". Details about the files and data are provided in README.txt. For further questions, please contact Britt Raubenheimer at braubenheimer@whoi.edu, Steve Elgar at elgar@whoi.edu, or Alexandra Muscalus at alexandra.muscalus@whoi.edu Support was provided by the National Science Foundation, the US Coastal Research Program, and the WHOI Build the Base Program.

    A major goal in the area of exact exponential algorithms is to give an algorithm for the (worst-case) n-input Subset Sum problem that runs in time 2^{(1/2 - c)n} for some constant c > 0. In this paper we give a Subset Sum algorithm with worst-case running time O(2^{n/2} ⋅ n^{-γ}) for a constant γ > 0.5023 in standard word RAM or circuit RAM models. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first improvement on the classical "meet-in-the-middle" algorithm for worst-case Subset Sum, due to Horowitz and Sahni, which can be implemented in time O(2^{n/2}) in these memory models [Horowitz and Sahni, 1974]. Our algorithm combines a number of different techniques, including the "representation method" introduced by Howgrave-Graham and Joux [Howgrave-Graham and Joux, 2010] and subsequent adaptations of the method in Austrin, Kaski, Koivisto, and Nederlof [Austrin et al., 2016], and Nederlof and Węgrzycki [Jesper Nederlof and Karol Wegrzycki, 2021], and "bit-packing" techniques used in the work of Baran, Demaine, and Pǎtraşcu [Baran et al., 2005] on subquadratic algorithms for 3SUM.

  5. {"Abstract":["Results of the study titled "Disentangling the role of phylogeny and climate on joint leaf trait distributions across Eastern United States". The archive contains three csv files with estimates of N%, C%, LMA, Carotenoids%, ChlorophyllA, ChloropyllB, Lignin and Cellulose for ~1.2 million individual trees sampled by the Forest Inventory and Analysis from 2015 to 2019. Each estimate was produced sampling the posterior distribution of the three models saved as .rds files, and contain the associated uncertainty (estimate error and 95 prediction intervals).<\/p>"]}
