Abstract Let $$V_*\otimes V\rightarrow {\mathbb {C}}$$ V ∗ ⊗ V → C be a non-degenerate pairing of countable-dimensional complex vector spaces V and $$V_*$$ V ∗ . The Mackey Lie algebra $${\mathfrak {g}}=\mathfrak {gl}^M(V,V_*)$$ g = gl M ( V , V ∗ ) corresponding to this pairing consists of all endomorphisms $$\varphi $$ φ of V for which the space $$V_*$$ V ∗ is stable under the dual endomorphism $$\varphi ^*: V^*\rightarrow V^*$$ φ ∗ : V ∗ → V ∗ . We study the tensor Grothendieck category $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T generated by the $${\mathfrak {g}}$$ g -modules V , $$V_*$$ V ∗ and their algebraic duals $$V^*$$ V ∗ and $$V^*_*$$ V ∗ ∗ . The category $${{\mathbb {T}}}$$ T is an analogue of categories considered in prior literature, the main difference being that the trivial module $${\mathbb {C}}$$ C is no longer injective in $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T . We describe the injective hull I of $${\mathbb {C}}$$ C in $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T , and show that the category $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T is Koszul. In addition, we prove that I is endowed with a natural structure of commutative algebra. We then define another category $$_I{\mathbb {T}}$$ I T of objects in $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T which are free as I -modules. Our main result is that the category $${}_I{\mathbb {T}}$$ I T is also Koszul, and moreover that $${}_I{\mathbb {T}}$$ I T is universal among abelian $${\mathbb {C}}$$ C -linear tensor categories generated by two objects X , Y with fixed subobjects $$X'\hookrightarrow X$$ X ′ ↪ X , $$Y'\hookrightarrow Y$$ Y ′ ↪ Y and a pairing $$X\otimes Y\rightarrow {\mathbf{1 }}$$ X ⊗ Y → 1 where 1 is the monoidal unit. We conclude the paper by discussing the orthogonal and symplectic analogues of the categories $${\mathbb {T}}$$ T and $${}_I{\mathbb {T}}$$ I T .

Contravariant forms on Whittaker modules
Let g \mathfrak {g} be a complex semisimple Lie algebra. We give a classification of contravariant forms on the nondegenerate Whittaker g \mathfrak {g} -modules Y ( χ , η ) Y(\chi , \eta ) introduced by Kostant. We prove that the set of all contravariant forms on Y ( χ , η ) Y(\chi , \eta ) forms a vector space whose dimension is given by the cardinality of the Weyl group of g \mathfrak {g} . We also describe a procedure for parabolically inducing contravariant forms. As a corollary, we deduce the existence of the Shapovalov form on a Verma module, and provide a formula for the dimension of the space of contravariant forms on the degenerate Whittaker modules M ( χ , η ) M(\chi , \eta ) introduced by McDowell.

Abstract In this paper, we analyze Fourier coefficients of automorphic forms on a finite cover G of an adelic split simply-laced group. Let $$\pi $$ be a minimal or next-to-minimal automorphic representation of G . We prove that any $$\eta \in \pi $$ is completely determined by its Whittaker coefficients with respect to (possibly degenerate) characters of the unipotent radical of a fixed Borel subgroup, analogously to the Piatetski-Shapiro–Shalika formula for cusp forms on $$\operatorname {GL}_n$$ . We also derive explicit formulas expressing the form, as well as all its maximal parabolic Fourier coefficient, in terms of these Whittaker coefficients. A consequence of our results is the nonexistence of cusp forms in the minimal and next-to-minimal automorphic spectrum. We provide detailed examples for G of type $$D_5$$ and $$E_8$$ with a view toward applications to scattering amplitudes in string theory.more » « less

A bstract We consider higher-dimensional effective (EFT) operators consisting of fermion dark matter (DM) connecting to Standard Model (SM) leptons upto dimension six. Considering all operators together and assuming the DM to undergo thermal freeze-out, we find out relic density allowed parameter space in terms of DM mass ( m χ ) and New Physics (NP) scale (Λ) with one loop direct search constraints from XENON1T experiment. Allowed parameter space of the model is probed at the proposed International Linear Collider (ILC) via monophoton signal for both Dirac and Majorana cases, limited by the centre-of-mass energy $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s =1 TeV, where DM mass can be probed within $$ {m}_{\chi }<\frac{\sqrt{s}}{2} $$ m χ < s 2 for the pair production to occur and Λ > $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s for the validity of EFT framework.more » « less

null (Ed.)A bstract A search for a chargino-neutralino pair decaying via the 125 GeV Higgs boson into photons is presented. The study is based on the data collected between 2015 and 2018 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb − 1 of pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant excess over the expected background is observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level for a massless $$ {\tilde{\chi}}_1^0 $$ χ ˜ 1 0 are set on several electroweakino production cross-sections and the visible cross-section for beyond the Standard Model processes. In the context of simplified supersymmetric models, 95% confidence-level limits of up to 310 GeV in $$ m\left({\tilde{\chi}}_1^{\pm }/{\tilde{\chi}}_2^0\right) $$ m χ ˜ 1 ± / χ ˜ 2 0 , where $$ m\left({\tilde{\chi}}_1^0\right) $$ m χ ˜ 1 0 = 0 . 5 GeV, are set. Limits at 95% confidence level are also set on the $$ {\tilde{\chi}}_1^{\pm }{\tilde{\chi}}_2^0 $$ χ ˜ 1 ± χ ˜ 2 0 cross-section in the mass plane of $$ m\left({\tilde{\chi}}_1^{\pm }/{\tilde{\chi}}_2^0\right) $$ m χ ˜ 1 ± / χ ˜ 2 0 and $$ m\left({\tilde{\chi}}_1^0\right) $$ m χ ˜ 1 0 , and on scenarios with gravitino as the lightest supersymmetric particle. Upper limits at the 95% confidence-level are set on the higgsino production cross-section. Higgsino masses below 380 GeV are excluded for the case of the higgsino fully decaying into a Higgs boson and a gravitino.more » « less

In a physical system with conformal symmetry, observables depend on cross-ratios, measures of distance invariant under global conformal transformations (conformal geometry for short). We identify a quantum information-theoretic mechanism by which the conformal geometry emerges at the gapless edge of a 2+1D quantum many-body system with a bulk energy gap. We introduce a novel pair of information-theoretic quantities(\mathfrak{c}_{\textrm{tot}}, \eta) that can be defined locally on the edge from the wavefunction of the many-body system, without prior knowledge of any distance measure. We posit that, for a topological groundstate, the quantity\mathfrak{c}_{\textrm{tot}} is stationary under arbitrary variations of the quantum state, and study the logical consequences. We show that stationarity, modulo an entanglement-based assumption about the bulk, implies (i)\mathfrak{c}_{\textrm{tot}} is a non-negative constant that can be interpreted as the total central charge of the edge theory. (ii)\eta is a cross-ratio, obeying the full set of mathematical consistency rules, which further indicates the existence of a distance measure of the edge with global conformal invariance. Thus, the conformal geometry emerges from a simple assumption on groundstate entanglement. We show that stationarity of\mathfrak{c}_{\textrm{tot}} is equivalent to a vector fixed-point equation involving\eta , making our assumption locally checkable. We also derive similar results for 1+1D systems under a suitable set of assumptions.more » « less
