Title: Complete Genome Sequences of Two Phylogenetically Distinct Nitrospina Strains Isolated from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans
ABSTRACT The complete genome sequences of two chemoautotrophic nitrite-oxidizing bacteria of the genus Nitrospina are reported. Nitrospina gracilis strain Nb-211 was isolated from the Atlantic Ocean, and Nitrospina sp. strain Nb-3 was isolated from the Pacific Ocean. We report two highly similar ~3.07-Mbp genome sequences that differ by the presence of ferric iron chelator (siderophore) biosynthesis genes.  more » « less

ABSTRACT Salegentibacter sp. strain BDJ18 was isolated from a plankton-associated seawater sample from the northeast Atlantic Ocean. We report its draft genome assembly, which includes genes potentially important for microbial interactions in the marine environment.

  3. ABSTRACT Here, we present the genome sequence of a member of the group I Acidobacteria , Acidipila sp. strain EB88, which was isolated from temperate forest soil. Like many other members of its class, its genome contains evidence of the potential to utilize a broad range of sugars.

  4. ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Microbacterium sp. strain Gd 4-13, isolated from late Pleistocene permafrost of marine origin located on the Gydanskiy Peninsula. Genome sequence analysis was performed to understand strain survivability mechanisms under permafrost conditions and to expand biotechnology applications.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the genome sequence and characterization for a Blattabacterium strain isolated from the viviparous cockroach, Diploptera punctata , which provides amino acids critical for intrauterine embryo development. The genome was assembled by sequencing of the cockroach fat body, which is the location of this obligate symbiont.
