Title: Climate data for C1 data logger (CR1000), 2015 - ongoing, 10 minute.
Climatological data are collected from the C1 climate station on Niwot Ridge (3018 m elevation) throughout the year. Starting 2015-01-01, the CR1000 logger was programmed to collect raw data at a 10 minute resolution. Maximum and minimum values were recorded instantaneously, with a sampling interval of 5 seconds. These data represent the native (ten minute) resolution data from that point onward, with quality flags applied but no data removed.  more » « less

  1. Climatological data are collected from the D1 climate station on Niwot Ridge (3738 m elevation) throughout the year. Data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR1000 data logger. Maximum and minimum values are recorded instantaneously, with a sampling interval of 5 seconds and programmed to generate 10 minute output. These data represent the native resolution (10 minute) data from 2014 onward, with quality flags applied but no data removed.

  2. Climatological data were collected from the saddle climate station on Niwot Ridge (3525 m elevation) throughout the year. Data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR1000 data logger. Maximum and minimum values are recorded instantaneously, with a sampling interval of 5 seconds. This instrument was programmed to generate 10 minute output starting in September 2014. These data represent the native (10-minute) resolution data from that point from onward, with quality flags applied but no data removed.

  3. Climatological data were collected from a Niwot Ridge climate station (D1) throughout the year. From July 5 2000 through October 23 2013, data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR23X data logger. Subsequently, data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR1000 data logger. Maximum and minimum values are recorded instantaneously, with a sampling interval of 5 seconds. Daily averages and totals were calculated from 17,280 individual measurements. This instrument was programmed to generate both hourly and daily output. Beginning in June 25 2009, 10 minute output was also generated. Daily output generated by the logger ended in 2014. Beginning in 2014, daily values were calculated from the native resolution data (ten minute).

  4. The instrumented buoy on Trout Lake is equipped with a dissolved oxygen sensor, a thermistor chain, and meteorological sensors that provide fundamental information on lake thermal structure, weather conditions, and lake metabolism. Data are usually collected every 10 minutes with occasional periods of 2 minute data for short periods to answer specific questions. The D-Opto dissolved oxygen sensor is 0.5m from the lake surface. Meteorological sensors measure wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, air temperature, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), and barometric pressure. Starting in 2005, thermistors were placed every 0.5-1m from the surface through 14m and every 2 to 4m from 14m to the bottom of the water column at 31m. In July 2006, a new thermistor chain was deployed with thermistors placed every meter from the surface through a depth of 19 meters. After correcting for flux to or from the atmosphere and vertical mixing within the water column, high frequency measurements of dissolved gases such as carbon dioxide and oxygen can be used to estimate gross primary productivity, respiration, and net ecosystem productivity, the basic components of whole lake metabolism. Data are averaged to daily values from one minute samples for years 2005 - 2006. Daily values are computed from high resolution data starting in year 2007. Data are averaged to hourly values from one minute samples for years 2005 - 2008, Hourly values are computed from high resolution data starting in year 2009. Hourly and daily values may not be current with high resolution data in the current year. Sampling Frequency: varies for instantaneous sample. averaged to hourly and daily values from one minute samples Number of sites: 1

  5. Climatological data were collected from the saddle climate station on Niwot Ridge (3525 m elevation) throughout the year. From 2000-06-24 to 2012-03-24, data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR23X data logger. Subsequently, data were recorded using a Campbell Instruments CR1000 data logger. This data set includes data beginning in 2009. Maximum and minimum values were recorded instantaneously, with a sampling interval of 5 seconds. Hourly means and totals were calculated from 720 individual measurements. The CR23X logger was programmed to generate both hourly and daily output. The CR1000 logger generated daily, hourly, and minute data until September 2014, and 10 minute and minute data thereafter. This dataset discontinued, see methods for instructions on accessing the 10 minute data instead.
