  1. Using a data sample of 427.9 fb 1 collected by the Belle II detector at or near the ϒ ( 4 S ) and ϒ ( 10753 ) resonances, the cross sections for e + e h + h J / ψ ( h = π / K / p ) at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.8 GeV or the production threshold to 5.5 / 6.0 / 7.0 GeV have been measured via initial-state radiation. The cross sections for the processes e + e π + π J / ψ and e + e K + K J / ψ are consistent with previously published results. The cross sections for these channels obtained by combining with previous Belle results are also given. The process e + e p p ¯ J / ψ is investigated for the first time. The yields are small and no significant structure is observed in the cross section versus energy. Searches for vector charmoniumlike states in the h + h J / ψ systems, and for associated intermediate states in the h ± J / ψ systems, are also presented.

  2. We report a measurement of the branching fraction for the leptonic decay B + μ + ν μ . This work presents the first B + μ + ν μ result using Belle II data, an updated Belle measurement that supersedes the previous result, and their combination, which yields the most precise search to date. The analysis is based on 1076 fb 1 of e + e collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV with the Belle and Belle II detectors at the KEKB and SuperKEKB colliders, respectively. We measure B ( B + μ + ν μ ) = ( 4.4 ± 1.9 ± 1.0 ) × 10 7 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The observed significance relative to the background-only hypothesis is 2.4 standard deviations. We set a 90% confidence level upper limit of B ( B + μ + ν μ ) < 6.7 × 10 7 using a frequentist approach and a 90% credibility level upper limit of B ( B + μ + ν μ ) < 7.2 × 10 7 using a Bayesian approach. These are the most stringent limits to date. The result is interpreted as an exclusion region in the parameter space of type II and type III two-Higgs-doublet models. We search for stable sterile neutrinos with masses m N [ 0 , 1.5 ] GeV . No signal is observed, and the resulting exclusion on the squared mixing parameter | U μ N | 2 provides improvement over previous limits. We report a measurement of the partial branching fraction of semileptonic B X u ν decays with p μ B > 2.2 GeV , obtaining Δ B ( B X u ν ) = ( 2.72 ± 0.05 ± 0.29 ) × 10 4 . We present a model-dependent study of weak annihilation decays using the muon momentum spectrum. We observe a signal of 2.4 standard deviations above the background-only hypothesis in regions where the distribution resembles that of B X u ν decays.

  3. Abstract We report a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decaysτ±→ℓ±α(ℓ=e,μ), whereαis an undetected spin-0 particle, such as an axion-like particle using 736 × 106tau lepton pairs collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+ecollider. We find no evidence of signal and obtain the most stringent upper limits on the branching fractions at 95% confidence level:$$\mathcal{B}$$(τ±→ e±α) < (0.4–6.4)×10−4and$$\mathcal{B}$$(τ±→ μ±α) < (0.2–3.5)×10−4at 95% confidence level for anαmass in the range 0.0≤ mα≤1.6 GeV/c2

  4. Abstract We study the processesχbJωandχbJ+ππ0)non−ω(J= 0, 1, 2) at center-of-mass energies$$\sqrt{s}$$from 10.73 to 11.02 GeV using a 142.5 fb−1data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energye+ecollider; and at$$\sqrt{s}\sim 10.75$$GeV using a 19.8 fb−1sample collected with Belle II at SuperKEKB. We find that the Υ(10753) state decays intoχbJωbut not intoχbJ+ππ0)non−ω, while the Υ(10860) state, in contrast, decays intoχbJ+ππ0)non−ωbut not intoχbJω. The mass and width of the Υ(10753) state are measured to be (10756.1 ± 3.4(stat.) ± 2.7(syst.)) MeV/c2and (32.2 ± 11.3(stat.) ± 14.9(syst.)) MeV. The products of the partial width toe+eand branching fractions for Υ(10753)→ χb1ωand Υ(10753)→ χb2ωare (1.57±0.27(stat.)±0.22(syst.)) eV and (1.39±0.41(stat.)±0.33(syst.)) eV.

  5. In the bottomonium sector, the hindered magnetic dipole transitions between P-wave states h b ( 2 P ) χ b J ( 1 P ) γ , J = 0 , 1, 2, are expected to be severely suppressed according to the relativized quark model, due to the spin flip of the b quark. Nevertheless, a recent model following the coupled-channel approach predicts the corresponding branching fractions to be enhanced by orders of magnitude. In this Letter, we report the first search for such transitions. We find no significant signals and set upper limits at 90% confidence level on the corresponding branching fractions: B [ h b ( 2 P ) γ χ b 0 ( 1 P ) ] < 2.7 × 10 1 , B [ h b ( 2 P ) γ χ b 1 ( 1 P ) ] < 5.4 × 10 3 and B [ h b ( 2 P ) γ χ b 2 ( 1 P ) ] < 1.3 × 10 2 . These values help to constrain the parameters of the coupled-channel models. The results are obtained using a 121.4 fb 1 data sample taken around s = 10.860 GeV with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. 6. We measure the time- and phase-space-integrated C P asymmetry A C P in D 0 π + π π 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle II experiment from 2019 to 2022. This sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 428 fb 1 . We require D 0 mesons to be produced in D * + D 0 π + decays to determine their flavor at production. Control samples of D 0 K π + decays are used to correct for reconstruction-induced asymmetries. The result, A C P ( D 0 π + π π 0 ) = ( 0.29 ± 0.27 ± 0.13 ) % , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, is the most precise result to date and is consistent with C P conservation.

  7. Using data samples of 988.4 fb 1 and 427.9 fb 1 collected with the Belle and Belle II detectors, we present a study of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays Ξ c 0 Λ η , Λ η , and Λ π 0 . We observe the decay  Ξ c 0 Λ η and find evidence for the decay Ξ c 0 Λ η , with corresponding branching ratios determined to be B ( Ξ c 0 Λ η ) / B ( Ξ c 0 Ξ π + ) = ( 4.16 ± 0.91 ± 0.23 ) % and B ( Ξ c 0 Λ η ) / B ( Ξ c 0 Ξ π + ) = ( 2.48 ± 0.82 ± 0.12 ) % , respectively. We find no significant signal in the Ξ c 0 Λ π 0 decay mode and set an upper limit at the 90% credibility level of B ( Ξ c 0 Λ π 0 ) / B ( Ξ c 0 Ξ π + ) < 3.5 % . Multiplying these ratios by the world-average branching fraction of the normalization channel, B ( Ξ c 0 Ξ π + ) = ( 1.43 ± 0.27 ) % , we obtain the absolute branching fractions of B ( Ξ c 0 Λ η ) = ( 5.95 ± 1.30 ± 0.32 ± 1.13 ) × 10 4 , B ( Ξ c 0 Λ η ) = ( 3.55 ± 1.17 ± 0.17 ± 0.68 ) × 10 4 , and an upper limit at the 90% credibility level on the absolute branching fraction of B ( Ξ c 0 Λ π 0 ) < 5.2 × 10 4 . The quoted first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third uncertainties arise from the branching fraction of the normalization mode. These results are consistent with most theoretical predictions and further the understanding of the underlying decay mechanisms.

  8. Abstract Using the data samples of 102 million Υ(1S) and 158 million Υ(2S) events collected by the Belle detector, we search for a pentaquark state in thepJ/ψfinal state from Υ(1,2S) inclusive decays. Here, the charge-conjugate$$\overline{p }J/\psi $$is included. We observe clearpJ/ψproduction in Υ(1,2S) decays and measure the branching fractions to be$$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (1S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[8.1\pm 0.6(stat.)\pm 0.5(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$and$$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (2S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[4.3\pm 0.5(stat.)\pm 0.4(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$. We also measure the cross section of inclusivepJ/ψproduction ine+eannihilation to beσ(e+e→pJ/ψ+anything) = [108 ± 11(stat.) ± 6(syst.)] fb at$$\sqrt{s}=10.52$$GeV using an 89.5 fb−1continuum data sample. There is no significantPc(4312)+,Pc(4440)+orPc(4457)+signal found in thepJ/ψfinal states in Υ(1,2S) inclusive decays. We determine the upper limits of$$\mathcal{B}\left[\Upsilon \left({1},{2}S\right)\to {P}_{c}^{+}+anything\right]\cdot \mathcal{B}\left({P}_{c}^{+}\to pJ/\psi \right)$$to be at the 10−6level.

  9. We report decay-rate C P asymmetries of the singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decays Ξ c + Σ + h + h and Λ c + p h + h , with h = K , π , measured using 428 fb 1 of e + e collisions collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider. The results, A C P ( Ξ c + Σ + K + K ) = ( 3.7 ± 6.6 ± 0.6 ) % , A C P ( Ξ c + Σ + π + π ) = ( 9.5 ± 6.8 ± 0.5 ) % , A C P ( Λ c + p K + K ) = ( 3.9 ± 1.7 ± 0.7 ) % , A C P ( Λ c + p π + π ) = ( 0.3 ± 1.0 ± 0.2 ) % , where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic, agree with C P symmetry. From these results we derive the sums A C P ( Ξ c + Σ + π + π ) + A C P ( Λ c + p K + K ) = ( 13.4 ± 7.0 ± 0.9 ) % , A C P ( Ξ c + Σ + K + K ) + A C P ( Λ c + p π + π ) = ( 4.0 ± 6.6 ± 0.7 ) % , which are consistent with the U -spin symmetry prediction of zero. These are the first measurements of C P asymmetries for individual hadronic three-body charmed-baryon decays.
