Participants perceived that premed students experience greater academic stress than their counterparts; however, we found no significant differences in academic stress reported among students in our sample ( P > 0.05). This study of 566 undergraduates establishes that LGBTQ+, first-generation, and disabled students disproportionately experience FNE, which causes students to overthink their responses and reduces their participation in class.more » « less
