We describe a measurement of charge-parity ( ) violation asymmetries in decays using Belle II data. We consider and decays. The data were collected at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider between the years 2019 and 2022, and contain bottom-antibottom meson pairs. We reconstruct signal decays and extract the violating parameters from a fit to the distribution of the proper-decay-time difference between the two mesons. The measured direct and mixing-induced asymmetries are and , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are in agreement with current world averages and standard model predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2024

Revisiting C and CP violation in η→π+π−π0 decay
The decay is an ideal process in which to study flavor-conserving and violation beyond the Standard Model. We deduce the - and -odd quark operators that contribute to originating from the mass-dimension-six Standard Model effective field theory. The corresponding hadron-level operators that generate a nonvanishing amplitude at order in the chiral effective theory are presented for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, in addition to the leading-order operators ascribed to the final state. By fitting the KLOE-2 and the most recent BESIII experimental data, we determine the coefficients of the lowest-order and amplitudes and estimate the potential new physics energy scale. We also perform an impact study of the future experiments. Published by the American Physical Society2024

A search for meson decays to the and final states is reported using a sample of proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The decay is observed for the first time when requiring that the two electrons are consistent with coming from the decay of a or meson. The corresponding branching fractions are measured relative to the decay, where the two electrons are consistent with coming from the decay of a or meson. No evidence is found for the decay and world-best limits are set on its branching fraction. The results are compared to, and found to be consistent with, the branching fractions of the and decays recently measured by LHCb and confirm lepton universality at the current precision. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERNmore » « less

A study of and decays to ( ) is performed using collision data collected by the LHCb experiment during LHC Runs 1–2, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The branching fractions for these decays are measured using the decay as a control channel. The decays and are observed for the first time. For decay modes with sufficient signal yields, asymmetries are measured in the full and localized regions of the final-state phase space. Evidence is found for violation in the decay, interpreted as originating primarily from an asymmetric decay amplitude. The measured asymmetries for other decays are compatible with zero. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERNmore » « less

A search for violation of the charge-parity ( ) symmetry in the decay is presented, with proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of , collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. A novel model-independent technique is used to compare the and phase-space distributions, with instrumental asymmetries subtracted using the decay as a control channel. The value for the hypothesis of conservation is 8.1%. The asymmetry observables and are also measured. These results show no evidence of violation and represent the most sensitive search performed through the phase space of a multibody decay. © 2024 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2024CERNmore » « less

We present a search for the baryon number and lepton number violating decays and produced from the process, using a data sample collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider. No evidence of signal is found in either decay mode, which have equal to 2 and 0, respectively. Upper limits at 90% credibility level on the branching fractions of and are determined to be and , respectively. Published by the American Physical Society2024more » « less
