Title: Measurement of CP Asymmetries in B0→KS0π0γ Decays at Belle II
We report measurements of time-dependent C P asymmetries in B 0 K S 0 π 0 γ decays based on a data sample of ( 388 ± 6 ) × 10 6 B B ¯ events collected at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle II detector. The Belle II experiment operates at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy e + e collider. We measure decay-time distributions to determine C P -violating parameters S and C . We determine these parameters for two ranges of K S 0 π 0 invariant mass: m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.8 , 1.0 ) GeV / c 2 , which is dominated by B 0 K * 0 ( K S 0 π 0 ) γ decays, and a complementary region m ( K S 0 π 0 ) ( 0.6 , 0.8 ) ( 1.0 , 1.8 ) GeV / c 2 . Our results have improved precision as compared to previous measurements and are consistent with theory predictions. Published by the American Physical Society2025  more » « less

  1. We measure the time-integrated C P asymmetry in D 0 K S 0 K S 0 decays reconstructed in e + e c c ¯ events collected by the Belle and Belle II experiments. The corresponding data samples have integrated luminosities of 980 and 428 fb 1 , respectively. The D 0 decays are required to originate from the D * + D 0 π + decay, which determines the charm flavor at production time. A control sample of D 0 K + K decays is used to correct for production and detection asymmetries. The result, ( 1.4 ± 1.3 ( stat ) ± 0.1 ( syst ) ) % , is consistent with previous determinations and with C P symmetry. Published by the American Physical Society2025

  2. A study is presented of B + K S 0 K π + K + and B + K S 0 K + π K + decays based on the analysis of proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb 1 . The K S 0 K π invariant-mass distributions of both B + decay modes show, in the m ( K S 0 K π ) < 1.85 GeV mass region, large activity which is resolved using an amplitude analysis. A simple model, where J P C amplitudes are described by multiple Breit-Wigner functions with appropriate angular distributions, provides a good description of the experimental data. In this approach a complex mixture of J P C = 0 + , 1 + + and 1 + amplitudes is observed that is dominated by η ( 1405 ) , η ( 1470 ) , η ( 1760 ) , f 1 ( 1285 ) , f 1 ( 1420 ) and h 1 ( 1405 ) resonances. The K S 0 K π Dalitz plots are dominated by asymmetric crossing K * K ¯ bands which are different for the two B + decay modes. This is due to a different interference pattern between the 1 + + and 1 + amplitudes in the two channels. Branching fractions are measured for each resonant contribution. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  3. An amplitude analysis of B D D 0 K S 0 decays is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb 1 , collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. A resonant structure of spin-parity 0 + is observed in the D 0 K S 0 invariant-mass spectrum with a significance of 5.3 σ . The mass and width of the state, modeled with a Breit-Wigner line shape, are determined to be 2883 ± 11 ± 8 MeV / c 2 and 87 47 + 22 ± 17 MeV , respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These properties and the quark content are consistent with those of the open-charm tetraquark candidate T c s 0 * ( 2870 ) 0 observed previously in the D + K final state of the B D D + K decay. This result confirms the existence of the T c s 0 * ( 2870 ) 0 state in a new decay mode. The T c s 1 * ( 2900 ) 0 state, reported in the B D D + K decay, is also searched for in the D 0 K S 0 invariant-mass spectrum of the B D D 0 K S 0 decay, without finding evidence for it. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  4. A study of Λ b 0 and Ξ b 0 decays to Λ h + h ( h ( ) = π , K ) is performed using p p collision data collected by the LHCb experiment during LHC Runs 1–2, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb 1 . The branching fractions for these decays are measured using the Λ b 0 Λ c + ( Λ π + ) π decay as a control channel. The decays Λ b 0 Λ π + π and Ξ b 0 Λ K π + are observed for the first time. For decay modes with sufficient signal yields, C P asymmetries are measured in the full and localized regions of the final-state phase space. Evidence is found for C P violation in the Λ b 0 Λ K + K decay, interpreted as originating primarily from an asymmetric Λ b 0 N * + K decay amplitude. The measured C P asymmetries for other decays are compatible with zero. © 2025 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration2025CERN

  5. We perform an angular analysis of the B K * e + e decay for the dielectron mass squared, q 2 , range of 0.0008 1.1200 GeV 2 / c 4 using the full Belle dataset in the K * 0 K + π and K * + K S 0 π + channels, incorporating new methods of electron identification to improve the statistical power of the dataset. This analysis is sensitive to contributions from right-handed currents from physics beyond the Standard Model by constraining the Wilson coefficients C 7 ( ) . We perform a fit to the B K * e + e differential decay rate and measure the imaginary component of the transversality amplitude to be A T Im = 1.27 ± 0.52 ± 0.12 , and the K * transverse asymmetry to be A T ( 2 ) = 0.52 ± 0.53 ± 0.11 , with F L and A T Re fixed to the Standard Model values. The resulting constraints on the value of C 7 are consistent with the Standard Model within a 2 σ confidence interval. Published by the American Physical Society2024
