We report the results of the first search for Standard Model and baryon-number-violating two-body decays of the neutral mesons to and using of data collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. We observe no evidence of signal from any such decays and set 95% confidence-level upper limits on the products of and branching fractions for these two-body decays with in the range between and . Robust Effective Ground State in a Nonintegrable Floquet Quantum Circuit
An external periodic (Floquet) drive is believed to bring any initial state to the featureless infinite temperature state in generic nonintegrable isolated quantum many-body systems in the thermodynamic limit, irrespective of the driving frequency . However, numerical or analytical evidence either proving or disproving this hypothesis is very limited and the issue has remained unsettled. Here, we study the initial state dependence of Floquet heating in a nonintegrable kicked Ising chain of length up to with an efficient quantum circuit simulator, showing a possible counterexample: the ground state of the effective Floquet Hamiltonian is exceptionally robust against heating, and could stay at finite energy density even after infinitely many Floquet cycles, if the driving period is shorter than a threshold value. This sharp energy localization transition or crossover does not happen for generic excited states. The exceptional robustness of the ground state is interpreted by (i) its isolation in the energy spectrum and (ii) the fact that those states with -independent energy above the ground state energy of any generic local Hamiltonian, like the approximate Floquet Hamiltonian, are atypical and viewed as a collection of noninteracting quasiparticles. Our finding paves the way for engineering Floquet protocols with finite driving periods realizing long-lived, or possibly even perpetual, Floquet phases by initial state design. The inclusive production of the charm-strange baryon is measured for the first time via its semileptonic decay into at midrapidity ( ) in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the center-of-mass energy with the ALICE detector at the LHC. Through laser-heated diamond anvil cell experiments, we synthesize a series of rubidium superhydrides and explore their properties with synchrotron x-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy measurements, combined with density functional theory calculations. Upon heating rubidium monohydride embedded in at a pressure of 18 GPa, we form , which is stable upon decompression down to 8.7 GPa, the lowest stability pressure of any known superhydride. At 22 GPa, another polymorph, is synthesised at high temperature. Unique to the Rb-H system among binary metal hydrides is that further compression does not promote the formation of polyhydrides with higher hydrogen content. Instead, heating above 87 GPa yields , which exhibits two polymorphs ( and ). All of the crystal structures comprise a complex network of quasimolecular units and anions, with providing the first experimental evidence of linear anions. This Letter presents the most precise measurement to date of the matter-antimatter imbalance at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair . Using the Statistical Hadronization framework, it is possible to obtain the value of the electric charge and baryon chemical potentials, and , with unprecedented precision. A centrality-differential study of the antiparticle-to-particle yield ratios of charged pions, protons, baryons, and light (hyper)nuclei is performed. We measure the branching fraction of the decay using data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. The data contain meson pairs produced in energy-asymmetric collisions at the resonance. The measured branching fraction , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, is more precise than previous results and constitutes the first observation of the decay with a significance of 6.5 standard deviations.
